How have the lines for the coasters been on Saturdays? Any chance of some walkons? This will be my first trip of the season.

Thanks!

Anyone else going?

I'm probably going to be out there Saturday, my second visit of the season.

Usually if I get there at 10:00, then get on Top Gun or Borg first then usually I can ride most of the coasters by Noon. I wouldn't call them walk-ons, but they are very short lines.

After Noon everything get longer.

That sucks... Am I looking at about 30 min waits for the coasters (with about an hour for Borg)?

Also, if you see me, say hey. I will be in an FSU, Garnet and Gold Polo Shirt.

I plan on going on Sunday, April 20th of 2081. If your there Fun say hey. I will be in a yellow primary conduction CO2 cooled nebula protection shirt that says "girls gone wild: Jupiter extravaganza." Maybe we can ride Thunder Road? Welp gotta go....I still have not planned out my wardrobe for 2082....so behind.

The lines weren't too bad. Top Gun was about 15-20 mins. Borg was only running 1 train so the line was about an hour and a half (the supervisor said it had only been running one train since the accident before the park opened in March). By next weekend, they will be running both trains again. Drop Zone was about 35 mins. Hurler about 20 mins. Thunder Road was a walk on and I managed to ride Southern Star and Vortex after a maintenance repair, so they were walk ons as well. The line for Vortex was insanely long otherwise, though.

A few notes... I think Borg might be running smoother than last year. Why that would be the case, I don't know. Thunder Road is a lot rougher this year. Hurler *might* be a little smoother this year.

Did anyone see me? I got a bunch of Point of View videos of all the coasters. I'll upload them sometime this week.

Awesome! Blatant disregard of park rules! Way to go man!

Thanks! Thought so myself.

I saw signs posted everywhere that said I can't hold my cell phone on the ride and, yet, I STILL did it! (can you sense the sarcasm?)

Since it is so "blatant", would you like to show me where it says you can't hold a cell phone on the ride (while it is recording a video)? I have looked all through my brochure, all over Carowinds.com, AND on the park map and nowhere does it say you can't take a cell phone on the coasters. I didn't even see where it says you can't take a camera on the coaster.

I'm not doubting you. There may be a rule that says that, but for you to say "Blatant disregard of park rules" is a lie. I have no idea you can't take cell phones on the coasters. No one told me I couldn't, nor did they stop me. In fact, as I was filming, I passed park attendants on every coaster. Never did they say anything!

It's not like I took my seatbelt off or anything. That would be a "blatant disregard of park rules."

About 20 mins. Flyer Number 1 was snapping GREAT!

This comes from the Carowinds ride height and safety brochure online. The exact same wording appears on MY park map, and I sure wouldn't be surprised if something similar IS on the ride signage. Doesn't appear you really looked too hard.....

"Most rides cannot accommodate loose articles, including cell phones,
pagers, hats, cameras, stuffed animals, purses, backpacks, umbrellas,
beverage containers, personal entertainment devices, etc. Items
must be safely secured in cargo pockets, a waist pack, left in a locker
or storage bin, or with a non-rider. Ride operators can not be
responsible for these items. Glasses must be secured on all
rides. BORG, Top GUN, Vortex, Cyclone, Souther Star and Drop
Zone require athletic straps to secure glasses or they can not be
worn. For safety reasons, taking pictures, videotaping and filming on
rides are prohibited."

Let's see, cell phones and cameras are supposed to be in your pocket or left behind, and filming, taking pictures, etc. is expressly prohibited, for safety reasons. It's absolutely breaking a park rule - just because you're ignorant of the rule doesn't change that fact.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I am now going to Hell... but with some damn good videos!

And for the record, this is the online brochure I was looking at, and I *still* don't see what you are referring to.
<a href='http://multimedia.paramountparks.net/carowinds/rackbrochure_07.pdf' target='_blank'>http://multimedia.paramountparks.net/carow...brochure_07.pdf</a>
And here is the park map, which I *still* don't see what you are referring to.
<a href='http://www2.cedarfair.com/carowinds/DOCs/pc_map_low_07.pdf' target='_blank'>http://www2.cedarfair.com/carowinds/DOCs/pc_map_low_07.pdf</a>

Like I said in my previous post, I am not doubting the rule. I'm just saying... relax. Calm down. Everything will be OK. I'm not taking off my seatbelts or anything. Chill. Why didn't the 15 or so employees or saw me doing it say anything?

Is this the *same* JamminJ that took these pictures? In fact... Isn't that your 1989 Toyota Camry in the first picture?

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Awesome! Blatant disregard of park rules! Way to go man!</span>

All of these pictures were taken while you were RIDING the roller coasters! A little hypocritical, isn't it?

Actually, that's MY 1990 Honda Accord in the first picture.

Closing for obvious reasons.
