I haven't seen anything on Carowinds site yet, but have noticed that Cedar Point and Michigan Adventure are starting to sell 2008 passes.
The Maxx and Maxx Plus passes seem to be dead, replaced by a Platinum Pass at $140. This seems to be the Maxx Plus pass (good at all CF amusement AND water parks) with the addition of free parking at ALL parks.
MIA's regular pass is $90, and CP's is $105. Neither offer free parking for buying a 2008 pass before the end of the season. I don't think they did that anywhere besides the former Paramount parks this year, either, so not sure whether to read anything into that or not.
I'm pretty sure you won't see a $95 Maxx pass at Carowinds this year - it sounds like the $140 is going to be standard for the entire chain. Whether the regular pass goes up or we get free parking, etc. we'll have to wait and see. My guess would be no free parking, and the passes will go up to $80 or $90.
At CP they mention a perks program for Platinum passholders, with early entry, food and merchandise discounts, and Platinum-passholder-only events. There's no mention of any of this at MIA, though. If I got a 20% food discount like on the old Gold pass, early entry, etc. - this might be a bit more appealing. Of course a new ride next year would also be appealing - ya listening, CF?
Just be prepared to possibly spend more for a pass with parking next year, although we still might get something cheaper here.
