Is it just me, or did anyone else notice, that practically every coaster was down a good amount of time today???

I never saw The Hurler move one time while i was there, Cyclone stopped WHILE i was on it, Vortex was out of commission for about 45 min while i was in line, and Borg was out almost all day!!! Top Gun saved the day for me though!! ;)

That's to be expected. After all it is opening day.

This was without a doubt the most breakdowns I've experienced in a day at Carowinds. There were at least four occassions where a ride we were waiting for went down, and we didn't ever get to ride Hurler. Not that I'm complaining, because despite all that and the fact that I'm sick as a dog right now, it was a great day. It was unfortunate for the park that Borg was down so much, but hopefully they will get all the bugs worked out eventually. In the past they've been really aggressive with getting problematic rides to work (Super Saturator being one).

To be expected, sure, but the amount the older rides (hurler, cyclone, vortex) were down was a shock to me. Dont get me wrong, I still had a great time as always, looking forward to next Saturday, Im sure ill be there again! :D

Does anyone know why they were not putting people in one of the trains on Vortex in the morning? I saw people in the afternoon.

Were they only running 1 train on Borg because of the computer systems not working or because the other train was broken?

When all else fails, you can rely on the B&Ms!

Like LocoDriver said, it's the first day. Employees are new, the rides have just came out of a 4-1/2 month nap, and the park is just awakening. I'm sure that by the middle of next month things will be running smoothly.

As someone said above, this was the worst day for coaster breakdowns I've seen. At least most of them got going again (except for Borg of course) :(

We'll try again today lol

Yeah, there were a lot of breakdowns yesterday, but I'm happy b/c I ended up getting to ride 'em all.

It was opening day, and breakdowns (especially for BORG) are expected. Hopefully they can get it working normal with 2-trains soon.

Well, after a second day at Carowinds I did see Cyclone stop on the lift while I was waiting in line for Borg. All the other coasters I went on went off without a hitch. As we entered the Borg line, which was way smaller than yesterday, we saw about 5 runs then the front seats messed up. They got it fixed enough to run a few more times but it ultimatly failed and they shut the ride down. We got a free exit pass and came back later once we saw people on it. This time we got the first row and I reminded my son that this was the problem on the last break down. I just wanted to add a little excitement to his day. Anyway, the ride was fantastic as it was yesterday. As we were waiting in the exit one of the mechanics was talking to an op and said they had that one licked pretty good so he was off to fix something else. Pretty nice to know it was fixed pretty well.

I know about the seat issue and you know what about an hour ago while i was at the park i got in the front row and the guy next to me had a problem with the seat belt. I just smiled and sayed they dont want you to leave.

Lol, indeed, foreseer, however I cannot say that I myself laughed out loud. This is a major safety concern. Rides that break down often, often crash.

^ Actually, if you did some research into the subject, you would find that rides are extremely safe and accidents are very rare. It is very common for new rides such as BORG Assimilator to have frequent breakdowns, and you can be assured that if there was any safety concern the ride would not be running.

And to add on to that, most coasters now either have block breaks at the end of the circuit, where if the coaster that is making the circuit doesn't make it to the end of the circuit (rollback, etc) then they won't dispatch the train from the station (if you watch, Hurler is like this or at least it was yesterday).

Or some type of sensor somewhere that if the train doesn't complete the circuit, then they won't launch/release the next train. If what you said was true, then TTD would have crashed many, many times. It's had a ton of rollbacks!
