General Carowinds discussion

Has anybody else noticed how much advertising has increased for Carowinds in 2004? I'm watching FOX-Charlotte, and over a 3-hour period, the Borg Assimilator commercial has been on 4 times!

I've also recieved 2 Carowinds brochures in the mail over the past month, without request. Normally I just get the SP Mailer!

I'd like to know how much the budget is for marketing. It's certainly more than last year!

I hear the Carowinds Radio commercial tons of time on KISS 95.1. I think that BORG is huge for Carowinds and they really want to pull in the crowds based on the flying experience they can get.

I think the park is really shootin' for a 2 million attendance year. Something they have not had in the park history. Maybe they have finally come to the realization that advertising really could pay off. We'll see in Oct.

Sadly,I have to report that in Raleigh I hear very little Carowinds advertising, and I find that odd because Carowinds is only 3 hours away.I believe an investment in the Raleigh/Durham area would pay off for Carowinds too.

We normally get Carowinds Comercials here, but I have not seen any yet. We are just an hour away here in High Point. They will propably kick it up a notch when it gets closer to summer vacation time for the kids still in school.

I've noticed the ticket price points are excellent this year as well. Especially to have a new coaster. Web Tickets for $29.99 and Credit Union tickets for $19.99! Carowinds is in perfect position to pass 2 Million this year.

I hate to say it too, But Greenville South Carolina has not heard alot about Carowinds. No-one even knows that Carowinds has a new coaster down here. I live 1hour and half from Carowinds, but still no advertisement. But, on the other hand I see ALOT of Six flags comercials which is 2hours from me. Now thats weird........
