I was at KI in the fall after DA opened and the PR manager there said that it was doing well and well received by the GP. I'm sure that is the case and it will be the case for Carowinds. The GP is quite different and doesn't take amusement parks nearly as seriously as we do.

As an amusement park enthusiast it doesn't seem to really fit in an amusement park setting. For the long term benefit of the park, it does seem that a well thought-out expansion of Planet Snoopy would bring more people into the park. That may not be their goal right now, though.

As a travel blogger (thanks for the support, by the way! I'm up to record numbers of traffic each month) I will take my family there so I can write about it. It does give me another topic on my list.

If they are taking out Joe Cool's driving school, I'd love to buy one of those cars to put in my amusement park man cave. ;)

When the lease ends on the dinos, who says the area can't be a Planet Snoopy extension? I can not see the Dinos being around for very long, and prime Planet Snoopy real estate will open up.

I'm okay with it, I mean Carowinds is Carowinds am I right? :T

I think it will be mostly a good thing. You have that one group of kids that are too old for Planet Snoopy, but are too young for the bigger coasters. (: This will be a fun thing for them, and a very interesting add-on to Carowinds.

Apartments? Does that mean something else in Canada?

I completely agree, that parks should not solely be about coasters. But they also shouldn't be about adding tons of upcharge attractions either. Some high capacity non-coaster rides are what the park needs.

Will this group be paying the 5 dollars? Will they care to read all the information on the dinosaurs? Or are they dumb enough to be entertained by a bunch of non-moving dinosaur statues?

I agree that carowinds needs to be a well rounded balence of thrills and family ride, But I dont agree with the upcharge... Im already mad about paying $15 for the go carts! But back to DA, It's a good edition to the park but it wont last long. Just look at cedar point, I think they have a PERFECT balence and that brings them a lot of success.
