I'm about 275-280 and I am planning a trip to Carowinds next month with some friends and I just wanted to make sure that I won't be embarassed like I have been at Dollywood. I am working on losing some weight before then by making some lifestyle changes but just in case I don't lose as much weight as I am thinking I will I need to know if I need to postpone my trip untill I can actually ride the rides. Thanks

It really depends on your body type beacuse diffrent rides have diffrent restraints, If you have more weight from your waist down lap bar rides like intimadator may be hard to get on. But if you have more weight from the waist up it may be hard to close shoulder harnesses like on afterburn. Im 6'0 and weigh about 270, the only ride harness thats really tight on me is intimadator.

Oh and there is no real weight limit on any ride, the only thing that may keep you from riding is the harness not being able to lock safely

Yeah I can attest to no weight limit. Good thing is that Carowinds does have test seats for Afterburn and Intimidator. Afterburn has "big boy" seats, so you'll at least be able to ride there (rows 4-6 I think). I've noticed this year that Shark Train has longer belts than Red Bird or whatever their offical names are.

I've struggled with my weight too and I have had to take the Walk Of Shame on more than one occasion.

It's hard to say what you will and won't fit on by weight. To give me an idea, which ride(s) were you denied at Dollywood?

Actually, I think it's Intimidator and Nighthawk, if I'm not mistaken. I have no problem with riding because I'm only 85 lbs (I know, I weigh as much as a paper clip), except that I'm like halfway between locks on the Intimidator so I either force it down so that I can't breathe, or I just hold on really tight.

I am pretty even as far as weight goes and I don't have more in one area than another! But as far as dollywood goes I couldn't ride the new eagle ride and then the Tennessee tornado is a little tight but I can still ride! I'm thinking about postponing my trip until July till I can get a little healthier..

Wild Eagle is probably tighter than anything at Carowinds.

Afterburn has the big boy seats, so you'll at least fit those. If you can't fit Wild Eagle, you probably won't fit on the regular seats due to the belts, but you'll fit the big boy seats in rows 4-6 for sure.

If you still want to try the regular seats, try shark train, not red bird as the belts are longer on shark.
