This is really a thought provoking question. Two identical tracks that mirror each other...one train travels backwards and the other forward. Those that count Thunder Road as two because one goes backwards, what if both sides went forward, how many would you consider it then? I think the park considers it two for marketing purposes. More roller coasters will always sound more appealing to the general public. To me, since it's the same layout, I say that its one even though there are two separate tracks.

On a side note, would Colossus be considered one or two?

It's definitly TWO coasters, so what If they have the exact same layout as each other only mirrored It's not one continuous circuit, see Grand National Is only 1 coaster, for It Is just A continuous track, but Is Thunder Road like that?? NO... It Is TWO differen't tracks, so how the heck Is It one???

On a side note, would Colossus be considered one or two?

I think even Six Flags counts Colossus as one coaster. Probably because both sides are run side by side during the main part of the ride (turnarounds included). TR at least splits at the turnarounds and I think that is why the park considers it 2 coasters.

But I will not back down from my opinion that it is one coaster with 2 tracks.

Legally T-Road is two separate rides. The state of South Carolina inspects them separately and permits them as two attractions (or amusement devices), as the rides computer/ safety system is independent of either side.

"A" Railway can have more than one track. For Ex., CSX isn't one strip of mainline from here to NY.

You are talking about a company not the tracks.

I believe that TR is two different coasters. As coasterdude99 stated that both coasters have their own unique characteristics. I also believe it is two different coasters is because if you seperated them then they could function one their own.

Let me add that in the morning the 2 sides have thier own Inspection that is performed. Although it is the same way each side has a seperate sheet that must be filled out and signed by the operators before it is allowed to open.

I saw that it is one track as it says on the map. It dosen;t have Backwards nor fowaeds. It has the name together.

So does Dueling Dragons, Gwazi....but they're counted as two.
