General Carowinds discussion

All,

I've gotten to really enjoy the 10:00 closings on Friday nights this spring, so much so that I went three Fridays in a row after work. I was looking at the park hours and noticed the park closes at 6:00 this Friday. After that it's back to 10:00 Friday closings until August. I just thought this might save someone a surprise.

Grad Fest is from 7-midnight. If it was open you may not want to be in a park filled with high school seniors.

I have also enjoyed Carowinds on Friday nights. The park seems to empty out around 7 and except for Fury most rides are walk on or close to it. Last week I rode Afterburn 6 times without leaving the station and several rides on Cobra without getting out of my seat.

I was going to say that you're very brave to ride Cobra back to back to back. But then I remembered that as long as you keep your head back, it's not that bad really. It's the only coaster in the park that actually makes me dizzy.

I didn't know about grad night, and you're right, I wouldn't want to be there!

How have the Sunday crowds been this season, tolerable? I might go this Sunday.

What?? I never knew about this when I was a HS senior :( (i.e. one year ago)

Actually, SFNE is having Grad Night on the same night, interestingly enough.

Hmm, no season passes honored.....
Wonder how many season pass holder will cough up the $40. Carowinds is brave, my high school would have never done this.

^ Yea it looks like its a pre ticket sale event because it says the ticket booths will not be open either. So I'm guessing this event is purchased thru the various high schools the group sales? Idk how it works.

I went to an event like this when I graduated high school in Charlotte. I think it was called Project Graduation. That was still under Paramount and was actually the night of graduation.

I went on Friday...not only were there a ton of school groups, but there was satellite parking for the golf championship at Quail Hollow being hosted there...

Needless to say, lines were long.
