After seeing this '76 map of Carowinds, which CarowindsZone pointed out, It shows the park at one time had trams to/from the parking lot. I Had often wonderd why there was a paved loop infront of the ticket booths, so this answers why it was there.

Seeing that all of the surrounding parks have trams, (Busch Gardens, Dollywood, and SFOG will again in 2004) I think it would be a good idea for Carowinds to purchase some more. It would make it much easier and faster to get to and from your car, and would ease the load on your feet because you would not have to worry about that long walk back to your car at the end of the day.

Carowinds should purchase some trams that Chance offers:

I have never needed a tram, I think that carowinds' parking lot is too small, and it is rarely filled to a capacity that forces people to park beyond walking distance from the gate.

A tram isnt needed.............i understand why six flags has one because the parking area and the gate are kind of far apart meanwhile, you can literary park inside the gate!!

Also if you look at the other pics...........it was only one gate at the time so a tram was probably needed
