I have someone in the area, She lives in Charlotte and next time she goes to the park this week, I asked if she could take some pictures for me.

Also, I can tell you now that this is NOT a hoax. The park has gone this far to say it's being demolished.
You do realize that if they were lying (and they're not), that could seriously hurt the park.
I can personally tell you that it is being demolished. But what's coming next year, in my opinion, will be well worth it.

There not lying if it is only partially demolished and then converted. I am not trying to get my hopes up, a man can dream.

Was at the park yesterday, it's still 100% standing. The only thing removed is a section of the entrance ramp and the signs.

I wonder what's taking them so long. I thought they wanted it down asap. And RMC is booked for next year and 2017, so we can rule them out.

they have to remove all the track before they can tear it down. thats a long process. would be really hard to demolish the structure with all the track holding it together.

I can personally tell you that it is being demolished. But what's coming next year, in my opinion, will be well worth it.

I guess I feel hesitant because the chances of something big enough to warrant the removal of Thunder Road this soon after Fury seems too good (if bittersweet) to be true. I guess we'll see, though .

I am beginning to think they already knew a year ago at the Fury announcement that Thunder Road would be demolished. When they hinted at the "big splash" to come, I think they had already decided to remove Thunder Road. Already planned. And sounds like Amos has inside info on what is coming next. But just a few more weeks we'll all know.

Thunder Road is still standing. The black fence has been removed and a new temporary fence was added. It looks like demo will begin soon, but I thought that a week ago.

Was just at the park and I'm pretty sure the claw was still in this spot.
