General Carowinds discussion

I was thinking that myself when I read how the park went down again.

^^Pretty sure whatever info he has he isn't public knowledge, so he definitely isn't going to share with us, just like we are going to have to wait the 2 whole days to find out what SFoG is getting next year. :P You don't become a person who knows inside things by blabbing your mouth all the time.

Jarsh wrote:SFoG - 2011
Dollywood - 2012
Carowinds - 2013?

Maybe this cycle will repeat itself into infinity. :)

I have noticed a small pattern between SFoG and Carowinds.

97-BTR
99-Top Gun

02-SUF
04-Borg

06-Goliath
10-Intimidator

Dollywood sort of fits with Tornado being in 99, Thunderhead 04, Mystery Mine 07. Can't wait to see what the next 3 years bring to the southeast.

Pretty sure Jarsh has inside info with everyone. It's one of the fringe benefits of being ACE Regional Rep I guess. I'm going to stop talking now so I don't blow up his spot any further.

LOL! I can hear the PM's being written as we speak... :)

If Carowinds were to be getting a new ride next year wouldn't ya think there would be a title change?

Snoopy Starlight Spectacular and ENTER RIDE NAME HERE 2011!

Yeah, but this year things are different. They haven't said it yet, but they're waiting till November for the new ride announcement in order to push season pass sales. And they know that the stupid Snoopy Spectacular isn't going to draw the coaster enthusiast crowd in, which is the parks bread and butter, so they've got one more trick up their sleeve.

Rumor has it (Strong rumors, heard them from some higher ups at C3) is that they're getting a larger, faster, taller version of Maverick, which is going behind Hurler. Track will probably start showing up around the end of October...if you know where to look.

Awesome, so we may have something else to look forward to in the next couple of months!

I think the Snoopy Starlight Spectacular is important, especially as far as Carowinds and Cedar Fair are concerned. While we just want more and more thrill rides, it is also important to look at the big picture. Many coaster enthusiasts are brought up loving amusement parks because they were welcomed at an early age and dream of the time they are old enough to ride the 'big rides.'

My daughter had us measure her a couple of times a year just dying for the time when she was 54 inches so she could ride Afterburn. She's not even a teenager but will hang in there with the best of you. :D We raised her to be a thrill seeker and now we're paying for it. (She's the one who convinced me to get season passes to Carowinds next year and keeps asking - 'When are we going to Cedar Point?)

So long story short, while on the surface, something like this Starlight Spectacular doesn't seem important to us, it really is important to help build the next generation of coaster and amusement park enthusiasts.
