General Carowinds discussion

I mean if you want a real drink, the drunken goat tavern is literally across the street. And they have a good sport bar atmosphere.

Thats where the work friends and I go instead of paying the exorbitantly high prices inside of the park and when I'm with the family we abstain from alcohol anyways (Responsible parenting) so I have no real excitement over this addition.

It's like the Starbucks addition. A major moot point since their coffee is overpriced junk and I pull my own espresso at the house on my Italian Pasquini machine.

Maybe you should start building your own roller coasters as well . . . or some Universal inspired air conditioned dark rides. . .
I think one of your problems is that you dont NEED to go to carowinds if you gotta count pennies that much.

For you to love universal so much that you have to mention every chance you get, you sure do come off as a CheapAss and that's ironic being universal is FAR from a cheap place to go!

So am I the only person who looked at the plans that were leaked??? Because I am pretty sure what they announced today was exactly what we saw in the plans. (And even a little more! A Cirque-style show??? Yay! Another bar? Yay! An awesome restaurant??? Yay!!) The dedicated waterpark entrance has been a top request from the GP for YEARS. And not to mention the new exit that will alleviate some of the traffic concerns.

For those of you complaining, what were you expecting???? This is what we knew was coming, and even a little more. Is it as exciting as the Fury announcement last year? No. But they gave us what we were expecting and even a little more. I'm happy with the announcement.

The problem is that the full service bar is on the SC side and on Sundays will only serve beer and wine.

Hey now. How do you think the billionaires like the Walton family stay rich? They don't donate their 18 billion dollars out to anyone who asks for it.

We cut things where due. Saving money so we can go and experience more lavish and fun things and it pays off in the end. Plus we are able to tuck away some savings into the kids college funds and whatnot. So at the end of the day we're having fun, saving money and getting to enjoy the best theme parks the world has to offer.

Now I know this might come as a shock. But when the big highlights of your announcement are a Starbucks and a Bar. You've got to wonder where the excitement is. .

^^^^ You do understand that Universal is in the flipping middle of Florida when you talk about people coming out in the heat right? You do understand that before you get into those air conditioned rides you're standing in line, in the heat. I didn't notice it keeping people away and I'm the most a\c loving guy I know.

Moving on, I didn't have a pass this year for Carowinds because I really can't take the heat and I can't ride coasters. My family went without me all year. Next year I'll be going too and chillen pool side. Why now? Well all this new stuff looks pretty dang good.

That seems to be the consensus among my Facebook friends. People sharing the story, talking about can't wait. I think for some it becomes too easy to forget that we know thing the gp doesn't. Know one I know, outside of this forum, knows anything about our slides being just like slides at another park. They just see new slides they've never experienced or had to travel to experience in the past.

Does it replace TR, no, nothing will, for goodness sakes people are still complaining about White Lightning.

Parks change, its a good thing, at Carowinds they look to be aiming at having something for everyone.

Maybe i'm wrong then. It would be nice to have a bloody mary after a few rides on Fury.

Well, one thing about being in America is we have the freedom to do as we please. I choose to get a 2016 season pass WITH dining because I go to several cedar fair parks and it would be beneficial to me. If someone doesn't wanna continue their pass cool, everyone has that right.

Gosh, when Max introduced me to this site I used to really enjoy it. But now with all of the pissy attitudes, it is something I almost dread to sign onto. Really people if you hate the park as much as you claim to then why bother coming on here? This is supposed to be about fun times, friendships being built, and love of a park May of us have grown up with, worked in, and believe in.

Off my box, but even though I don't do slides, I am excited the plans are what the GP has been asking for. A new wave pool will be nice as the one leaving is so outdated but popular because it was water.

CF, please know that some of us appreciate what you are doing and love that you are returning the Carolina themes back to the park!

Thanks also to those of you on here that keep a positive look on things!

Does this mean wifi? Throw that in and season pass will be mine haha

They actually released park-wide WiFi this year, so.........

I still don't like it but I'm truly happy for you and those that do. I think my frustration looking back was only one new slide complex... But as someone pointed out they have time for this in the future and hopefully other big rides( and I need to lose weight to take my shirt off :D). I'm sorry you can't ride coasters... My friend has some kind of spine condition that prevents this and it truly sucks If that's what you mean by can't.
