I don't think a lot of you understand the concept of what a media day is, and I say that in the most sincerest way. It is not a glorified ERT session, it is not a regular day at the park. The coaster can be down and up at any given moment. There will be pauses for camera set up and newsreels. What stuff are you bringing where you would need to store so much?

I know it’s not an ERT, lol. I usually only bring a few things. The things I would need to store are my phone, wallet, and keys. That’s literally it. The email said no loose articles on the ride, and I would be nervous about losing my phone, wallet, and keys especially with that expected hangtime.

I get the opinion they're bringing cell phones. And, since the ride doesn't allow them, they were wondering where to keep it.

I agree that this isn't a time specifically for riders, but for promoting and and marketing the new ride, so that the news outlets can report on it over the next couple of days (weeks, months).

coasterbruh wrote:Ok, tomorrow is media day and it may be some of you all's first time so I wanna give some tips . . .

- Represent yourself well. The underlining dress code is semi-business casual. I would suggest a nice pair of khakis or jeans and either a polo style or button up shirt. I would NOT suggest shorts, t-shirts or sandals/flip flops.

- Be mindful of your actions and realize you are a guest of the park.

- As mentioned before, the park repensentives and media are there to WORK. Do not be a hindrance to them. While they are approachable and passionate about their jobs, tomorrow is THE day for them.

- If you are approached by media for comments or an interview remember it's in bad taste to compare the coaster to any other coaster. The people watching or reading are watching or reading for copperhead and not to here its like **insert coaster**( or its better than **insert coaster**. Also, if you are approached and you have nothing nice to say, just decline and move on.

- To expound on that more, only answer what you are given. Don't try to make the moment about you and how many coasters or parks you have been on or to. Answer what is asked of you. There are no "cool points" involved.

-Be grateful. Even if the coasters has complications, be grateful for given the chance to attend.

Lastly, have fun and enjoy the moment. I know where are all geeks and are excited for Copperhead Strike but just try to be yourselves . . . within reason.

Very good advice. Thanks for posting.

Last year at Twisted Timbers media day, they had the lockers nearby available for free to hold loose articles, no telling what will be in store for this day. My #1 rule for these types of events is appreciate the park for even presenting the opportunity, they are certainly not required to include any of us, and we should appreciate all they do.
