General Carowinds discussion

Im interested why though that the blueprints and all have been leaked so much. We have so much information about this ride its crazy. I know this day and age technology and all.

Spinning or not this coaster is probably going to be fantastic. The only spinning coaster I've been on is Cobras Curse and it was really good for a family coaster, I really liked the elevator style lift hill and the theming inside the line queue

With the newer picture of the layout that has the supports in more HD, it looks like I will be updating the rendering when I get back home. The main difference looks like instead of there being an s-hill over the second launch, it instead is a positive g s-turn under it that goes up into an overbank, then down to a flat turn, then up into a little hill that is identical to the entrance on Time Traveler’s second launch. Some other things to note is that the top hat looks like it does level out at the top, the launches are above ground, there probably isn’t a double up in the helix section, the final airtime hill does not straighten up but instead has rolling banking throughout, and I’m not sure what to make of the section that formally was a heartline roll into the brakes. (You can find this image on reddit, I’m on my phone right now). One thing that is nice about the image is that it has the heartline shown so it is really easy to see banking.

^ I agree with your assessment of the layout, but I think the final element into the break run is still a heartline roll. It’s not as straight as the break section, and you can see a change in the heartline on the way to the breaks.

At this point, I definitely think it’s a spinning coaster a la Time Traveler. Lots of similarities in layout.

Four cars and a (possible) S-curve doesn't guarantee it's a spinner, as Icon will have both.

I'm stilling hoping for a mega launch personally, but a spinner would be welcomed too. Just think of the buzz though, if this does end up being the first mega launch in the Americas. It'd be insane!

Either way, Carowinds will have a really rare addition that will draw in guests from far and wide (not to mention how fun it'll be)! That's something we should all be excited about.

So with the west coast having the only U.S. Mack launch, I would welcome a (longer/bigger) Helix clone here with all of the cool theming and night time lighting effects.

Oh, and the airport/shopping mall escalator at the entrance queue is awesome

RCDB is what many go by, so in that case it is currently by itself in the Xtreme Spinner category.

It's a launch coaster. It's a launched, Xtreme Spinner. Or maybe all Xtreme Spinners fall into the launched category.

While yes the heartline does change, if you compare it to the one out of the station it’s easier see the difference. In the station the track wraps around the heartline point making a zig zag shape from above, while the brake run approach stays on top of the track. I am beginning to think a mini (or double mini) airtime hill into a rising turn into the brakes.

Unrelated edit: Wow we are about to break page 100
