General Carowinds discussion

Okay, so I'm a little confused with everything that's going on. Fury was the first coaster I ever followed, but I don't have that much time to follow this one until June comes. I've tried to sit back and just see what everyone has to say and follow along that way. To my understanding, they're done clearing the land and we're just waiting for the footers...right? :?:

Well, nobody really knows. Especially since the webcam went down yesterday. Before it went down, they were removing extra debris around the work site, but I also saw them bringing in a few more loads of dirt and they were still doing some grading and compacting. I don't think they are done with the leveling/backfilling/compacting yet.

The main difference looks like instead of there being an s-hill over the second launch, it instead is a positive g s-turn under it that goes up into an overbank, then down to a flat turn, then up into a little hill that is identical to the entrance on Time Traveler’s second launch. Some other things to note is that the top hat looks like it does level out at the top, the launches are above ground, there probably isn’t a double up in the helix section, the final airtime hill does not straighten up but instead has rolling banking throughout, and I’m not sure what to make of the section that formally was a heartline roll into the brakes. (You can find this image on reddit, I’m on my phone right now). One thing that is nice about the image is that it has the heartline shown so it is really easy to see banking.

Heres one as well.... Cant post the picture it says server error.... Here is a link to my page with the blueprint...https://www.facebook.com/carowindsfanso ... =3&theater

The camera is still down this morning but I did see them still dumping dirt as arby said, I guess they are still back-filling etc. I did see quite a bit of markings around the area on Sunday when I was there... Here is a snip from yesterday before the cam went down...

Damn near every single post you have made in the last month tells people to click on your facebook page. If only Carowinds Connection had their own page to post stuff on? Or hell, maybe if they had a public forum? We sarcastically appreciate you taking the info from Reddit and Carowinds Connection and placing it on your facebook page, as your own, without sourcing it.

Did you skip over the first few lines or did you purposely ignore it? What about the situation where you advertise your Carowinds fan site on someone else's Carowinds fan site? Seems a bit wrong, no? I can't imagine Domino's letting Papa John's advertise on Domino's boxes.

Okay, so the webcam is officially down. It's been down for me since Sunday, but it seems like everyone else's view came down yesterday. I guess we have to trust the people who are driving by the park and get close up views to what's going on now...unless the cam starts working again which is what I'm really hoping for.

Yea it went down yesterday mid day or so. I have let the park know it was down, which I am sure they probably know. The 2nd cam is still up and it looks like it moved slightly.

Unless this is a shorter standard Mack launch train (since from what I understand the smallest they've done is 5 cars.) I feel like this layout would be too dull as just a standard Mack launch, which is why I'm rooting for a spinner. Two loops? Lol

Thanks! Dont know if it will be spinning or not. From what I could see zoomed in on the station it looks like a regular train, but I dont know. Guess we will have to see on that one! I think spinning would be cool, but I think it will be regular, or perhaps some NEW style train that maybe does something different, maybe pivot or something, who knows!? Cant wait to find out.

Thats a good find! Its definitely plausible. I think there is going to be more of an "expansion" with the coaster as in a new themed area and the old county fair will get overhauled. I could see a path going around the coaster and connecting back beside dogems or somewhere in that area, and of course flying eagles making a new home somewhere in the new area to. I wont be surprised if some games and the ritas shop gets demolished. Not sure though. I believe the entrance will be where WWF entrance is and it will be re-used so if that is a walkway, not sure how it would tie in to entry/exit....
