General Carowinds discussion

I don't have any P&L, PAC, or Cash Flow sheets from Carowinds, but I know that the park makes money! Remember the area of which Carowinds is located. Some of the world's biggest financial corps. are located and headquarterd in Charlotte. Big money is made in that area and many of those big money makers take a trip or two to Carowinds and spend those big bucks. Also, many families take weekend getaways to Carowinds during the summer. Parents will buy anything for their kids and that is why you see all the kid's stuff being added to Carowinds. Families flock for this kinda "kiddy" entertainment. Anyways (got off track), I really think CF is looking at making Carowinds bigger in size and in attraction numbers. Think about it, the parks location is in one of the new "HOT" areas of the country, right? Add some nice resort hotels, keep the campground, expand the park, add newer rides, continue to spruce up the look and feel of the park and BANG...you have a success! I really do feel positive about the future even though I sometimes doubt myself about the actual happenings of it?!?

Rollernut, that boomerang relocation list you posted is not very encouraging. Judging from the list, it suggests Carowinds is a lower tier park and if you look at relocations since 2001 it gets even worst. Again since Carowinds is very family slanted, they would get more bang for the buck by putting in a new flat. Wonderland survived by putting in a series of flats during their long coaster drought and families loved them.
