I think that would be hard because there is a huge elevation change where the boats go up the conveyer... which means a turntable has to be where the station is now. But they can't go much towards the park due to the buildings/shops. And going longer means taking out the boat containment area which would have to be moved somewhere else. Going towards the rest of the ride would affect the flume path.
Also going to bigger boats wouldn't work either since the whole ride would have to be redone.
One thing I could see working is if they had the same loading they do now, but add a second one to it, so the boats split into two loading areas and then merge back into the single trough. But would require double the ride attendants which would be costly long-term.

The one that it almost looks like to me that a turntable may have planned for during construction. Having a lift midcourse would be odd however with a themed story for a tunnel over the lift, I think it could be enough of a distraction from the lift.
That was originally a whirlpool but it was turned off because it caused the water and boats to back up

I'd rather them replace it with a bigger, better flume ride that has hills and curves, and is more of a water rollercoaster. To me, the rapids ride is rather boring, and I just spend my time on the rollercoasters.
They literally had boats turning upside down and people almost drowning. Plus water was backing up and boats weren't flowing well. So it was all redone and toned down.
Also about the staff... when I worked there it was a broad mix of young and old workers, and all of us worked hard. One of the biggest things was nobody ever knew how to put on the airplane seat belts so we had to help them all. Nowadays I don't know.. I've gone on rides like Goldrusher where the attendants don't seem to care about their jobs. And then like Fury where they seem to be on something and pushing riders as fast as they can.
