I think it is clear that KI will get a major coaster in 2014. I feel that the next major coaster for Carowinds will come in 2015. We seem to stay one step behind KI. I still agree that Carowinds will be getting either a B&M Wing coaster, a GCI woody or a launched coaster. I still also say that Carowinds getting a giga coaster anytime soon makes no sense at all. I think and hope what we get in 2014 will be a flat ride or some sort of Planet Snoopy addition, both of which are needed. More water and more shade would be great. The return of the Sternwheeler, White Lightnin, the monorail, the chair lift and the Wild Bull would be great too but I guess that is just the 44 year old in me talking:)

A train ride from Thrill Zone to North Gate, South Gate and the waterpark would be lovely especialy since Carowinds has grown since the first train was removed. For a waterpark expansion, add a Tantrum, Boomerango, spread out the lockers andba mat racer. Also expanded the waterplay house and add a bunch of shade trees. Shoe holders would also be a cheap but nice addition.

Today at carowinds I saw a orange structure in the area in front of the asymlym. It said Mondial on several areas of the structure. It didn't look like a piece of a coaster but it looked like a piece of a ride so carowinds will probably be getting some type of thrill ride for 2014.

I think someone said something about re-theming thrill zone. Keep in mind Cedar Fair is not at all big on theming. I actually think they will eventually do away with the theme section names being just I big park lol; however as for 2014 I see a delirium or other good flat coming to the park!!!

I would love to see a Huss Giant Frisbee come to the park, the only reason I doubt it coming is that only two of them were ever built. I am not really sure why so few were built since they are great rides. Anyone know why so few were built?

Only 2 were built, in America.

There are at least 3 in China at Chimelong Paradise, Happy Valley Beijing and Happy Valley Wuhan.
There are at least 2 in Japan at Nagashima SpaLand and Fuji-Q Highland.
And 1 in Belgium at Bobbejaanland.

I'd be willing to bet I'm missing some as well.

Regardless 8 isn't that many, but I would be willing to bet that you haven't seen more from Huss is because..
1) Mechanically it isn't very reliable.
2) Better and possibly cheaper options from Zamperla, Intamin, Mondial and other manufacturers.
3) Any park that would consider getting a larger one already has a smaller, "normal" sized Frisbee by a SLEW of other smaller manufacturers (which I think would also be fine for Carowinds, but of course not necessarily a "draw")

If I had a vote it would go to the Zamperla Giant Discovery like Kennywood's Black Widow.

No no no!!! We have 3 in the US: MaXair at cedar point, Delirium at Kings Island, and Black Widow at Kennywood in Pittsburg, PA. I actually think if Carowinds was to get one it could be a good draw being that it'll be the only one in the south.

Black Widow is a Zamperla Giant Discovery, not a Huss Giant Frisbee.

Having said that, I would like a non Huss version. Heck, there are plenty of companies that make good versions, and even high capacity versions. I just one a version of that ride, themed to a race car tire, in front of Intimidator, named Spin Out or something .

Pretty much completely agree on everything, especially the name!

I don't care if it is Huss or Non-Huss, "Giant" sized or "Regular" sized, all the types of Frisbees are great rides, and Carowinds would be smart to add one. It would get multiple rides from me every visit, unlike every other Cedar Fair addition to date, except Intimidator.

Can I close this thread yet?
