I do too, why didn't they buy a third train so we could have two train operation more.

I know it would be actually less expensive because of all the repairs and riding costs. Plus it would easy to have an extra tain! <_<

Do any of you guys know the cost of just one train................im sure if you did then you would be saying so lightly that a park chould juset casually buy extra trains just to sit around...........

Besides how many coasters period have more than the minium @ carowinds

I don't what one costs, it is a suggestion that has been floating around for years.
Ricochet and Carolina Goldrusher.

Richoet cars are only one car per "train" and there are only 8 of them which would be the standard train for any coaster.

Goldrusher only has 2 trains now they had 4 but i guess they figured that it would be feasible and economical to have only 2 operating trains.

It just kills me that some people can make outlandish suggestions that a park should just spend money at the drop of a dime. I cant wait until some of you get a chance to operate a theme park............I can tell you know its no RCT2........

Im sorry to say but the number of trains you see on a coaster after its constructed is generally the number you will see, if not less, until its deminish.

Oh yeah here another suggestion that has been floating around for years, maybe even decades is the hyper..........

Wrong, Ricochet has two cars that sit in storage, and the third Goldrusher train is in storage or for rehab. Which is why the blue train is on the track and the red one isn't, soon, the green will "disappear". The hyper rumor started some time ago, but looks to be false.

Maybe you should check out this site (which is a page from carowindsconnection.com) and it clearly states its 8 cars TOTAL. Where they are stored heck who cares but i know when Mack constructed the coaster, it came w/ 8 cars.

And as far as goldrusher, how hard is it to change the shell/color of the train (let me let you on a little secret...........the actual coaster car is seperate from the shell of the car) So who's to say that they cant change the shell to yellow if they really wanted to.............

where are you getting your information from........carowindszone or something

Maybe, you check this site. It has confirmed information. The number that CC gives is the numbe of cars that Carowinds runs at one time. Jon, Please tell him something about this comment:"where are you getting your information from........carowindszone or something." so, I don't get in trouble

We'll let the park determine how many cars the coaster has..............

And besides i think, note i said i think this is how it operates; 2 cars in station, 2 on the track (one on lift one on course), 2 on brakes. which means 6 trains visible therefore that leads to the other 2 on the transfer track. How on earth will the be able to operate 8 cars on 1271 some odd ft of track.

MAn this would be so scary and dangerous to have 8 cars on one track, to keep that from happening they will have to take time to space them out. If One of the brakes fail we have a problem. But still if they had 8 it will go a bit faster.

I love threads like this and the logic behind some of the posts:

1) Why should they buy a third train when it came with two? It didn't have it in California and they're certainly not going to have it here.

2) 8 cars running on Ricochet? Ha! Just because the Mack website has that it has 10 cars doesn't mean you can run all ten (or even 8) at one time. There's safety regulations that you have to follow. Remember also that NC makes the cars stop in the station whereas some of the other Mouse coasters let the cars move slowly through their stations. The state of NC is pretty strict when it comes to amusement rides.

3) The hyper was apparently planned at one point. People have seen the blueprints/layout for it. Its just a rumour now.

There wouldn't be enough storage track to house two trains and I'm sure that they wouldn't be willing to keep dismantling and reassembling trains all season long.

Well, I have sat back and enjoyed the egg toss for a while and as I have no clue how many actuall trains/cars there are for any ride I can only count what I see while I am there.
That will give me something new to do this Sunday, counting trains and asking around if there are any in storage. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As long as the ride is safe and moves as quickly as it can, which is up to the ops more or less, who cares. Those trains are a tad on the expensive side and none of our current coasters, besides Ricochet, can have more than one on the track at a time. None of our coasters are long enough to have mid-course brakes so 2 trains is plenty.

Now to get back on subject.

I do hope soon they get things ironed out. It would be nice to ride it more than once a visit.
