Son of Beast lost a car as did Flight of Fear. I meant parts wise or mechanically.

I honestly have no idea. If you compare the mantis and vortex trains, mantis has a longer zero car and a slightly higher step up into the train. I would assume they are just about the same mechanical-wise.

I believe there's a difference in the locking mechanism for restraints on the newer stand ups as opposed to the first few. I know the undercarriage was different.

For being "IntaminBoy," you sure know your B&M's - great insight!

As for Vortex, we certainly find it a bit rough on the neck or temples area (depending on your height), but we find that to be part of the experience. Personally, I loved Mantis, and Elaine prefers SFOG's Georgia Scorcher (which we are marathoning along with Mindbender in June for charity). Still, the stand up experience can be rough, but it is unique. Let's hope Vortex does not get removed anytime soon. Of course, we are more than happy to see more expansion elsewhere in the park - launching or floorless would work just fine!

^^I can tell you the Vortex will not be removed anytime soon
I'm quite happy about that too. It looks very nice in the middle of the park.

Speaking of Vortex. I always liked it except for one thing....It's too freaking short of a ride! Even still, I remember when it opened and we rode it a LOT and thought it was awesome......but a few years later after moving to KY and riding Chang at Kentucky Kingdom (when it was still there) It was this massive yellow coaster in this small Park that I had never been to. It put Vortex to shame. So would I be upset about Vortex getting removed or re-designed? No. If it were somewhat longer with a couple of more large hills it would be a keeper. (this is just my opinion). I'm sure most will disagree with me.

I like Vortex just as it is. The longer a stand up coaster is, the more painful it usually gets, for me at least. Mantis was a prime example. About halfway through the circuit I found myself praying that the train would just finally hit the brakes so I could get myself far away from that thing. Vortex on the other hand is just short enough to where you can have fun before the pain starts to set in. But that's just my opinion.

On mantis it is just a pain party. You are just looking across the way at Millie, and hoping to ride that next so you can forget all this pain your in. However, Vortex is very enjoyable and fun.
