Well I really want to be on board with a new coaster for 2018...

But according to Screamscape it looks like Knott's might be getting a coaster or a big new attraction next year as well.

So we 100% know that CP & KD will be opening new RMC conversions.

So I don't see Cedar Fair opening 4 new coasters next year.

But as I have said before, why tear down WWF so early?
Why remove the planter in the entrance?
Why remove Panda Express building?

To free up space for more people.

Something big is in the works for 18'.

My money is shifting more and more towards a wooden coaster for next year.

As for Panda, I don't think that that and these markings are related. Carowinds is currently doing all they can to open up the main plaza so that's why I think it was moved.

"Although the Motor Boat Cruise survived the major 1959 project, it didn’t survive the January 1993 opening of Mickey’s Toontown a few hundred yards away. The word on the Internet was that to control overall park operating expenses, the operating budget for the Motor Boat Cruise was reallocated to Mickey’s Toontown. So in January 1993, the Motor Boat Cruise closed permanently."

I'm thinking either floorless Vortex or wooden coaster (maybe even an RMC, who knows  )
Or maybe even both in one year. I doubt it but it's possible.

Nah, wouldn't make sense from a financial standpoint to do both next year. I see that happening in 2019.

Something a bit off topic that came to mind. While I do think Planet Snoopy needs some love, I don't think it needs to happen asap. Unlike the old County Fair, that area still gets a LOT of traffic. To me, it is more urgent to get an anchor attraction in that area than it is to expand Planet Snoopy.

I agree, but PS doesn't necessarily have to be expanded. There are 2 different spots in Planet Snoopy where 2 more rides can go. The space between The swing ride, and Snoopy's Junction. Also, on the other side of Peanuts Pirates there is space. Especially if they down size peanuts pirates que house. Planet snoopy is unique in its own way and is very well rounded. They don't need a massive expansion. They can definitely add 2 to 3 more rides without retiring any.

We don't know what year's budget the two RMC conversions are in being that they started them both so early. Perhaps they are budgeted for 2017, especially in the case of KD, being that they received so little for this year, and the park teased 'more to come' doing their announcement.

Vortex going floorless is a given at this point, but I think the park might also focus their attention on the wet side again. Wildwater Kingdom closed back in September, and assuming Cedar Fair didn't scrap the slides, I could see Carolina Harbor getting their Proside Tornado (Liquid Lightning) next year. The park has some land to play with between the land behind the wave pools, the lawn in front of Surf Club Harbor, and possibly the WWF clearing (though I would hope, with the amount of land being cleared, that it would be reserved for a coaster).

Other than that, I expect more of the same (new restaurants, general infrastructure improvements, large fights breaking out during SCarowinds, etc.).

So many thoughts come to mind just looking at that "roadmap."

I can also see the park tearing into the undeveloped land behind the campground and expanding the rv sites and cabin sites to almost double it's size.

I mean . . . the park removed thunder road and nothing has taken it's spot. One can argue the same about the gauntlet.

Well we all know Harmony Hall took Guantlet's spot.

I'm just looking at this map and comparing what has actually been done throughout the chain. So far it's accurate.
