The shack (which looks eerily similar to the old Skyflyer shelters) is just a dropping off and pick up point for the bus that goes to the campground. I guess they needed a place to go since South Gate is now the primary gate, and the North Gate pick up area is a ways away.

I'm not a big fan of the entrance. I love how you'll get to walk over & under Fury 325, so entering the park will be cool. I just don't like the new gate. It doesn't have an personality to it. Even CP's gate has the Gatekeeper key holes. So I drew up something that I'd like to see instead:

I know I'm not the best artist on CC (That title goes to FamousAmos) but I think I did a fairly decent job. I wanted to make an entrance that feels modern, but still feels old-fashion.

^Just that little change would give the gate less of a cheap amusement park look than what is in the concept art. Changing the roofline and adding a cupola makes a big difference. The planned gate doesnt even match the toll plaza or the rest of entry plaza. Email your drawing to Public Relations, they are fan friendly.

I dont think that was the actual look. Just generic. Just like they don't know about the fountain yet either.

Tarheel, you didn't use MS Paint? I like it though. The roof reminds me of the concept designs for the toll plaza:

Also, the entrance as seen in the animation was just there because they needed a "filler" for the time being, however... The overall concept in the animation is basically the direction that the park wants to go. I just hope that it won't be as generic as in the animation. Speaking of the entrance, I heard that construction on it has already begun. I'll find out later this week on CC or when I go to the park on Sunday for the last operating day.

^My gate concept is actually inspired by the old toll booth drawings. I really do hope that the gate feels more original than the one in the animation.

Construction on the new maingate appears to have picked based on the webcam. If the new bridge is 4 times as wide then that is 132 feet across. Without South gate there will be less of a need for a bridge. It seems more cost efficient to fill the ravine in and build a regular walkway.
