I wouldn't hold my breath for it to leave . . .

Yeah, Cyclone isn't going anywhere unless something crazy happens or for some reason parts availability dries up, and I'm pretty sure S&S is still making parts for old Arrows.

The other thing to remember is that those greenhouses behind Cyclone are actually functional for much of the year to store landscaping materials. I think it's pretty safe to assume that Carowinds won't be expanding the main park into any backstage areas anytime soon, especially because many of them are used for Scarowinds storage and operations.

The only major thing Cyclone needs to make it reridable is to switch the trains to use the harnesses like the Flying Cobras.

I doubt it is going to happen but that would improve the coaster tremendously.

Honestly I think softer padding would be just as effective and cheaper, like the new harnesses on Maverick. It’d be nice on Kiddy Hawk as well.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg claims to make their own parts because S&S Arrow doesn’t provide them anymore.

I’ve always wished the upstairs part of Chickies and Pete’s would become a boardwalk bar for 21 and with a small band. I’m sure the breeze would be nice up there.

For just 21?!? The line would be crazy long just to get in and get a drink with that limited amount of people allowed up there.

Interesting, I had not heard that before. Can you link a source?

Thanks, that was interesting. To be fair, however, LNM got new S&S trains in 2018 which only really means they're not supporting legacy trains any longer. Come to think of it, I could DEFINITELY see Cyclone getting new S&S trains for 2020 which would be the ride's 40th anniversary, but that's for another thread.

That video is a little misleading. S&S Sansei/Vekoma still makes parts for their rides (watch the ACE Arrow documentary). Some parts for their rides are procured from when other similar rides go defunct. Some parts do have to be machined. They don’t make their own wheels and things, obviously.

Also, ACE Landmark status means nothing more than a nice geastire but that guy acts like it’s important. (Not at all a knock agains ACE, just a comment in his credibility)

I think the ACE landmark status is an important award. It means that a certain coaster is important enough in coaster history to receive such an award. I think that award is very prestigious to whomever receives such an award
