The right angle

And wait . . . When does having two conversions and a raptor from RMC equates to most of the major CF parks having RMC coasters?!?!?

I really hope if/when we do get one of those interactive themed areas at Carowinds, there's a focus on water features. Visiting Sunday made me realize how badly we need a water attraction in the dry park, even if it's not a ride.

Something like Geyser Gulch at HKDL would be great! There's a water cannon game and a water tower that dumps water on you when you pull a lever:

It's low-maintenance, interactive, and something everybody can enjoy. I think it would be perfect for Carowinds.

I get that, but having to change and everything for the water park is a hassle. Something like the water attractions at geyser gulch would be pretty low-cost, and they wouldn’t take up as much space.

Some people don’t like waterparks, I can swim in my backyard pool without bumping into people or having to deal with the waves.

I also don’t want to take my shirt off for a water slide, some lifeguards will let you while others won’t.

I'm still confused as to why there's such an insistence that you must change to go into the waterpark? You can get sprayed while in your street clothes in Carolina Harbor as easily as you can in your street clothes anywhere else in the park.

How are they with the "sunscreen" shirts? My son wears those when we do water things, and they're built for water-based activities.

I was hoping for a water play area in camp snoopy but I realized that with the park investing heavily in the water park product they wouldn't be so willing to invest in this outside of it. Those things really work well in parks with no connecting, free water park. I know, sometimes we like to rag on Carowinds (lately) but it shocked me how many parks are shying away from water attractions and water play areas in the parks and focusing on multi day experiences with fully fleshed out water parks and dry parks.

I still think the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Especially in the hotter days of late April/Early May, and mid-September, since the water park is only open between those two periods of the year.

I think it’s worth mentioning that Forbidden Frontier at Cedar Point has some water features, like the dynamite cannons on the lagoon and the “Cascade Crossing” where you can walk through a small set of waterfalls. Obviously Cedar Point doesn’t have its water park included with admission, but I don’t think a small water play area/water features are out of the realm of possibilities. Especially for a park in the Deep South.

I simply meant that I'd like a ride like a log flume or a rapids ride that would spray or splash you and refresh you without drenching you. I've always liked going on the flume (before Intimidator) or RRR just to get refreshed without having to be drowned. Our family takes several trips to Carowinds and some of those are when visiting the Charlotte area and are "Dry" trips to the park so we would NOT want to be drenched on those days. It would be nice to be refreshed though.

I REALLY hope Carowinds brings back a water ride to the dry park for that reason. Those kinds of ride made our trip to Dollywood last year VERY enjoyable on a VERY hot day. (VERY sorry to see Mountain Slidewinder go.)

I can't think of the last time a US park built a large scale water ride. It seems to be a trend to just remove them all even at Dollywood who has gotten rid of 50% of their water rides. I think we will see a splash battle or one of those tea cup water rides before a flume or a rapids though. I don't know the balance between how wet they get you but they do look visually appeasing.
