General Carowinds discussion

I’d like to see an adults-only party pool area with a full bar and a DJ. I know it’s unlikely since Carowinds and CF are more geared towards “fun for the whole family” and it’d be a huge liability, but I do like a Vegas pool party!

From reading around, it seems the dive coasters cedar fair have installed are, for lack of better words, lackluster. I may have to reconsider wishing for one lol.

I think I've said this before, but I'd rather see something from Gerstlauer if we gotta check the "vertical/beyond vertical drop" box.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some B&Ms, but the ride experience between models gets a little same-y and variety is nice.

Yeah, the lighting packages on those coasters look phenomenal at night. Based off of what cedar fair has been doing and what attracts more people, a dive coaster is a pretty big possibility if you ask me.

I’d like to see a gerstlauer as well. I think a infinity dive model would look really good where nighthawk is right now. Especially at night with the water underneath.

I would argue that a B&M dive machine would fit quite well there, as well as add some substantial mid-point symmetry to the skyline of the park.

Also, since I haven't posted on here in like 5+ years (though I do enjoy checking back occasionally to catch up with updates/speculation/leaks), I wanted to make a few more wishlist/predictions (in chronological order with predicted likelihood):
- CF is currently running the numbers on Rougarou and Twisted Timbers and will make a judgment whether either conversion would be net-positive for Carowinds (100%)
- If RRR is removed at end of 2019 and a conversion in 2020, then I'd imagine Vortex conversion to come first (if at all) to decrease congestion of crews and increase efficiency with RRR Removal. Kaleidoscope is also removed. (60%)
- RMC or GCI Hurler conversion: I'd then argue that whether GCI or RMC Hurler depends on the performance ($$$) of Ghostrider post-conversion and Twisted Timbers, which would lead us to believe that CF is engaged in placing a well-calculated, high-impact bet on whatever they eventually do with Hurler, which is good. (45% RMC, 35% GCI, *15% Neither, 5% T-Rex)
- *Eliminate Hurler; replace with Huss Giant Frisbee (15%)
- Super-moonshot idea: Rather than Hurler being confined to its current layout, the RMC is a custom i-box that starts in its current location and travels under Fury and into the area currently occupied by RRR. Still, Carowinds would be wise to engage the right-hand side of the park. Otherwise, the first attraction you hit when entering the park is Kaleidoscope, and if that were removed then the first ride you would hit would be Fury. Anyone ever thought of a Pay-2-Play Ropes Course in the trees where the current RRR entrance is located? (10%)
- Custom RMC at RRR. They're quieter than, say, a GCI — so you can make an argument of putting it behind the Amphitheater and it'd also engage the RRR entrance. Makes sense if Hurler is GCI, but not if Hurler were an RMC I-Box (70%)
- Custom GCI or Intamin Megalite at DA at date past the hurler conversion (65% GCI, 35% Intamin)
- B&M Dive Machine, RMC T-Rex, or Gerstlauer Infinity at Nighthawk (80% B&M, 10% RMC, 10% Gerstlauer)

Favorable Predictions IMHO:
- RMC at RRR
- GCI at DA
- B&M Dive at Nighthawk

Any thoughts?

So I was thinking of ways to increase the capacity on Boo Blasters, and I think I know a way to essentially double the current output without trying to copy Disney’s Omnimover; simply add another carriage to the current vehicles, allowing them to move eight people instead of just four.

I just hope they get around to renovating the ride some point. I still think Phantom of the Opry would still be a good name/theme to use for it.

The Ominmover system was created by Arrow for Disney when Adventures through inner space opened.

Boo Blasters at KI uses a Morgan Omnimover system similar to the developed by Arrow.

Had another thought, this time with Hurler. Would it be possible to elevate the track profile on the first turn instead of having to trim it? What I’m picturing in my head is something like this turn on Grizzly, between 2:04 and 2:10:

And then either remove or significantly lower the height of the first airtime hill? Would it be able to maintain the same amount of inertia for the rest of the course?

I’m only asking because Timberwolf at Worlds of Fun was reprofiled last season, so it seems like something Cedar Fair could realistically invest in if it’s physically possible.

Well, we saw what RMC did with the first turn around on Twisted Timbers . . .

My wish is for Kings Island not to get a giga in 2020. I feel like it'll just steal our thunder. We literally just got Fury 4 years ago. I'm not ready for another park to just take away that specialty of Fury from us. Maybe I'm just too biased of my home park lol.

Nobody outside the enthusiast community cares about another giga "stealing Fury's thunder." Although actually, from looking at the blueprints, KI's giga probably isn't going to be better. It's definitely not as long.

Ok, so I have had this on my mind ever since I saw it and got insider information from a cast member, Plus I don't want to set up the SCarowinds forum yet. Zombie high school is going away this year and being turned into Mrs. clauses kitchen for Winterfest. if you want, just completely ignore this post. if not, that's fine too. I just wanted to get this out there.
