1. Carowinds' marketing department is all over this site. (Hi Dani!)
2. A few pages back, several people went on and on over how that particular website was or wasn't registered.

Good play, though.

I think it's real. Why wouldn't it be? The site has clearly been registered and is under construction. Remember the white lightning picture that was leaked? The crate also says "lightning really does strike twice." Everything points to White Lightning as being the name of the new ride.

It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to add a page to an existing domain, just as it doesn't take a whole lot to "leak" a picture on purpose. You may ask, "Why would they want to fool a couple of coaster enthusiasts?" Well, we talk a lot. (At least I do, anyway.) I think they're just taking us on a wild goose chase, so that when they reveal on the 26th, we'll be stunned. I'm along for the ride, myself.

so if I can make a site jarvisowns.carowinds.com and host it on my own site how do we know the whitnlightning site is own by cedarfair...or did you check out the registration stuff...

No, you can't. It's called a subdomain. It belong to the parent domain, which in this case is Carowinds.com.

As far as the picture is concerned if you notice the hole in the wall is in the shape of the Microsoft Windows logo. I'm going to guess that is a generic construction page that is comming from a Windows-based server application. There is nothing to read into.

I think we all should just go back to posting Sky Tower pics until the 26th before this gets any stranger. That or I think another 'break' period is in order.

Obviously, there's a chance that you could be right. But, that seems a bit foolish doesn't it? It's quite clear that the majority sentiment on this forum is that White Lightning would be a superior name to something like Intimidator. So what exactly would be the point of making everyone think it was going to be White Lightning, a name that has been met with approval, only to throw back the curtain and disappoint everyone?

This pretty sums up my thoughts on the subject right now...

I guess people will like the name if its white lightning but it now makes you wonder exactly what the coaster will be...will it be the red track at the plant or will it be something totally different...

But then there's the teaser signs and video that kinda points to a racing theme...

That's true... It just seems like they've thrown us one too many bones. First the logo "leak", then the crate with the lightning, and now this. It's just getting fishy. They had to know we would find that subdomain, as we were just talking about it a couple of days ago.

It's viral marketing to create excitement. I don't see Cedar Fair tricking us like this as there would be a lot of upset people if the name turned out to be a hoax.

Well I hope you're right, because I've always been a fan of the name. (And all that it implies. )
