Sucks.

Really? I've never heard anyone else say Dominator sucks. ...

..If we don't get Dominator that's ok as long as we get a new coaster like CW's Behemoth in the next few years, but it sure would be sweet to get Dominator for next season! BTW, most coaster fans rate Dominator an average of 9 out of 10 and I sure would love it to show up at Carowinds.

For the record I am not like most coaster fans. I enjoy Villain while most enthusiasts hate it, and I HATE Dominator even though most people love it. I am willing to bet that many of the people that like it just because its a big shiny smooth B&M and OMGZ FLOORLESS!11 Same thing with Millennium Force, too many people like it because its big smooth and fast. But it doesn't actually DO anything, and therefore its pretty boring. Question for you.. have you actually been on Dominator? It would seem strange to be advocating Carowinds getting something purely on looks. There is no doubt in my mind that 98% of people would eat Dominator up if it were to move here, and it would be very popular. But I think at this point they are better off saving for a non-used somewhat halfway decent ride that people wont get bored of after riding it 3 times and with excellent capacity. And flats. We need flats.

I enjoyed Dominator. It is a fun, smooth coaster. However, Carowinds has a fantastic multi-looping B&M. One of the best, in fact. Dominator doesn't have even a fraction of the intensity of Top Gun.

Looks like the Top Spin is going to Great America.

For Goodness Sakes, Carowinds NEEDS that Top Spin!

I figure they'll get Headspin. I'd love for them to get Villain, but I have a feeling the woodies and Double Loop are lost.

But Carowinds NEEDS that Top Spin!

As far as the comment about Dominator, I for one have been on the coaster and loved it.

It's not a top 10 coaster, but it's really fun and I wouldn't mind one bit having it.

Again, if we got Villain with PTCs I'd probably love it, but the G trains beat me to death.

I don't know why, but I see Head Spin coming our way. The old spot for FSS would be perfect for Head Spin. Even with the new trains, I really would hate to see that be our new attraction for probably a few more years. But, I guess that would be another credit! I want a Giant Disko like KI or CP, but Top Spin would be okay with me.

No, I haven't been on Dominator and guess what...I haven't been on Behemoth either...no one has...and guess what...I'd love to get Behemoth too! Yes, you can want a coaster based solely on looks...I want to ride Led Zep at HRP next year based only on its looks. I have a question for you...do you like Top Gun? I love the speed and smooth elements that steel coasters have to offer and I'd love to have Dominator at Carowinds! I also love wood coasters and while many people don't care for Grizzly at KD, I love it! You certainly aren't like most coaster fans so good for you. I think the vast majority of Carowinds regulars would love to have Dominator... ;)

I've got a friend up that way saying they have a "connection" and they are saying the following (it's a rumor folks, take it with a grain of salt).

Dominator, Thunderhawk, Beaverland will all be relocated

Villain, Big Dipper, Wolf Bobs and Double Looper - all scrapped.

Headspin - Sold at auction.

Like I said, take it with a grain of salt.

If true, atleast we'd be spared from Head Spin!

Don't scrap the Big Dipper! Rebuild it at Carowinds . . . or in my backyard.

I'm interested to see what becomes of the woodies. Although Renegade may indicate CF has changed their stance on wood somewhat, I can't see any of the GL wood being really marketable at their other parks, at least not enough so for what it would cost to relocate them. I mean WE would like them, but CF isn't going to see it that way.

Now, maybe a smaller park that CF doesn't feel is competition will want Big Dipper, and possibly Villain. Raging Wolf Bobs is almost assuredly dead - it wasn't that great of a ride to start with by most accounts, had lots of problems, and then broke itself. I just can't see anyone wanting it. In retrospect, the park making no attempt to fix RWB at all should've been a sign of what was to come - why fix a ride when you're closing the park in a few months?

I've seen elsewhere that CF has been in contact with ACE and other groups about preserving what they can from the park. I don't know whether that means "we're going to try to find a new home for the woodies" or "Here's Geagua Lake and Big Dipper signs for your museum".

I have a bad feeling that the others will go the way of RWB, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I would think that moving a woodie could cost more than what the ride is actually worth to the park. All that old wood would probably crack and break to the point that most of it will have to be replaced. So I figure the woodies will be gone, but hey, I would love to have them all at Carowinds b/c IMO there fun!

^You know what I kind of just realized, we are slowly losing CCI's. Funny that all the ones that have closed, opened in 2000 and have G-trains.

2005 - MegaZeph
2006 - Hurricane
2007 - Villain

Boss better watch it's back. :(

Well as for Top Gun, damn straight it is one my favorite coasters anywhere, and thats no fanboyism. Only Nemesis at Alton Towers is better among the inverted coasters I have been on. But see the reason I like Top Gun is because I can FEEL it. It lets me know that I am riding a coaster, not sitting in a chair going through loops too big to provide any forces.

And as I said before, I KNOW that MOST people will eat Dominator up if it were to show up. I just am not most people.

Let me put this in a way that everyone can understand using one of my favorite coasters, that most people here have been on, Apollo's Chariot.

Head Spin comes to Carowinds -

Non-Enthusiasts - see a new coaster and line up for hours.
Enthusiasts - all upset by a used crappy coaster.
Me - completely ignore new addition and go ride the Flyers for hours.

Dominator comes to Carowinds -

Non-Enthusiasts - see a new coaster and line up for hours.
Enthusiasts - happy to have shiny B&M and line up for hours.
Me - happy to see a new coaster, but wish it was a quality ride. Will ride once and then ride the Flyers for hours.

Apollo's Chariot clone comes to Carowinds -

Non-Enthusiasts - see a new coaster and line up for hours.
Enthusiasts - happy to have shiny B&M and line up for hours.
Me - ecstatic that a clone of one of my favorite, quality, airtime filled coaster comes even closer to me, lines up for hours.

I hate being an Enthusiast. Zaps the fun out of the hobby.

Danny Phantom!?...I like flyers too but c'mon...are you serious? You're right, let's end this discussion 'cause you lost most of us with hours of Danny over Dominator...I'll stick with the "Non-Enthusiasts/Enthusiasts" on this one.

I would head over to the flyers myself. Hell that is the best damn ride at the park.
