General Carowinds discussion

^At this point I would actually be surprised if we didn't see a launched B&M out of Cedar Fair within the next several years. I am pretty sure a launch of some would be the next thing on the coaster agenda for Carowinds.

I do hope they build more.

Hulk doesn't really count, because tires. Where does this secondhand Intamin impulse idea come from?

This. Strata coasters are such a specific experience. Dragster is well worth the wait, but Maverick is my favorite CP coaster.

I wonder if the FAA would even let Carowinds build a 400' ride... it is directly in a flight path. A 500' structure seems even more unlikely to be approved.

Why not just move the airport over?

Edit: I just did some math. If one of the runways is about 6.7 miles away on the ground (which it is according to Google Earth), and the angle of descent is about 3 degrees (which is reasonable), the most planes in perfect conditions, and descent will be about 0.3155 miles, or 1665.84 feet off the ground when it flies over specifically the scrambler. I think that's plenty of room for a 500' structure, offering almost 1000 feet of room.

^ That's now a great question. At one time they said rides couldn't go past pretty much the skytower, then windseeker came along. After that, that was the max now Fury325 comes along. At this point anything is possible. I'm sure there is some type restriction.

I really like the way you think. Maybe you could try and apply at carowinds and in 30 or so years you could run the place! Would be awesome
