I only just saw the Thunder Road thing. I, too, wish I could save it! It's one of my favorite coasters. Why would they close that before the Hurler? XP

Also, WHY are they closing it mid-season and not after the season's done?

They won't close Hurler because it's not in the part of the park they need to clear out for expansion. Also, Hurler has regained a lot of popularity this year with its proximity to Fury. On my visits to the park this year, lines for Hurler have been much longer than last year.

As for why they're closing mid-season...I'm guessing so they can get a jump on demo and get started on construction so whatever new is coming will be ready in plenty of time for next year.

thats the point I was trying to make earlier. july is very earlier for construction for a water park expansion with say slides. That doesnt take much time at all. starting in july, thats what 11 months until the water park opens again the following year? Carowinds has something up their sleave and its huge and they need the added time to complete it.
