General Carowinds discussion

Thinking inside the logical box, the 1st launch of 42 mph in 2.5 secs, and a second launch from 35 to 50 mph in 2 seconds are very similar statistics to Time Traveler (not saying ours is a spinner) where it launches from 0 - 47 in 3 seconds, and from 30 - 45 in 3.5 seconds.

But thinking outside the box, I'm hoping the inclusion of Celsius is to imply something else other than speed. Because what fun would the guessing / prediction season be if they gave us all the actual stats up front?

Can you explain what you mean by “boomerang”?

"stir completely around the pot a second time" immediately made me think of a roller coaster that goes through the same track twice - i.e. a boomerang. I put it in quotation marks because I wasn't just thinking of the traditional Vekoma Boomerang model but also wanted to include shuttle loopers like White Lightnin'. I'm not sure if there's a word that's more general than boomerang, but that's what I meant.

The fun is giving it all to us and see us overthinking the crap out of them lol. And I can say, they have DEF been over thunk lol lol . . .

Eh, the whole live announcement was probably unnecessary but anyone who expected much more was setting themselves up for disappointment. If there was a coaster coming, there would have been significantly more clearing.

They never hinted at that at the park. If you are talking about the memorial, that was there since banshee. The ride attendants placed the wood on it once someone found it out there. The park, themselves, never hinted anything until yesterday stating the announcement. If anyone is "letdown" then its your own fault.

Could it be possible that the first two cars of the train are traditional, and the second two spinners? I know they just put a spinner car on the end of the regular blue fire train while testing. Would be best of both worlds, you could pick to spin, or ride a traditional ride based on where you seat yourself.

Interesting concept but a nightmare for those uninformed or just non-observant (and for the ride attendants) that get in the wrong line and then can't or wont ride the section they get in.

We all know that they don't hire the most patient people as ride attendants.

Wow, that's kind of harsh. "it's your own fault."

I hadn't read or seen anything ahead of time about KI to even have any expectations, i just heard there was an announcement and tuned in, and was really more just like "LOL seriously? " for a big "announcement." Just more in the mode of happy to be close to Carowinds for 2019 vs. KI.

Except several of the posters on this board actually want antique cars... myself included. I think they'd actually make a great addition to a revitalized Crossroads.

I agreed thay are a nice family ride and it is cool for little kids to be able to drive a car

Icon’s capacity 1070 so I think 530 means 53.0 miles per hour
#102516
I'm still standing by the 530= total launch track theory because there would be no fun in them giving us the top speed of 53 miles per hour when we would be totally surprised by the actual top speed. Just my personal opinion. And plus, can August 30th come ANY SLOWER!!! I just can't wait to find out the actual stats and name and see what the ride will be like from Carowinds itself.
