General Carowinds discussion

The best indicator of the quality of a Vekoma is whether Cedar Fair is buying them. Not sure how many they have ever bought but they inherited all 3 at Carowinds.

Moving back to the topic of Copperhead Strike, you can now see why a Mack might be more expensive. Footings galore! It's absolutely crazy the amount they are installing and are still going. The aftermath of the hurricane has really made the cam very clear on a sunny morning.

Good post. I agree.

I disagree.

But it is paid for and I am continuing to enjoy no car payment since it still reliably gets me around so I'm trying to milk it for a few more years.

Those coasters are paid for and people continue to ride them. I'm sure the park wants to replace them, and they will in due time. None of them are terrible in my opinion.

Nice analogy. We have these rides (cars) and want more rides instead of swapping out for better; however, it's ok to discuss which of our rides (cars) we'd replace if we could afford a shiny new replacement for it's spot in our garage.

Nighthawk isn't the worst coaster in the park, a distinction shared by Vortex and Kiddy Hawk, but of the 3 Vekomas it would be the first to go, IMO. Kiddy Hawk sits on a small plot and its worst issues can be addressed with a different harness. Flying Cobras sits on a small plot and is as good as a boomerang can be. Nighthawk sits on a large premium plot, has design issues (is it a flying or lying coaster?), and is rough as Gold Rusher without the history. People line up to ride it for many reasons, not the least of which is its throughput. Given a better choice than that potato centerpiece people would ride more, line up more and love you for it.

I wonder if any of those will come to the park! I guess we will see on Friday!

On another note, a curb has been built around the flyers.

Hahaha :) I will be back Friday, but of course it will probably be almost dark by the time I get there, I MAY go up on Sunday during the day, but I am not sure yet. Soon though... soon!

I was searching some of the containers etc and confirmed it is for Carowinds! Great work jrlooney88!

Looks like the delivery dates were accurate! Just spotted the truck on the webcam I do believe. I saw one the other day as well. I did search the tariffs and nothing really suggested it was track, but hopefully I am wrong and there is a piece or two that came. I know some of it is nuts, bolts, screws etc. that will be used to set everything up as well as some other things....

And its here.
