General Carowinds discussion

I was on Nighthawk once and it started to rain really really really hard. When we got back to the station, there seemed to be some confusion as to how they were supposed to shut it down. It took a few minutes before they decided to put the bars down on the train that was in the station and send it empty so we could pull in. We were just laying there, getting soaked.

Primarily marketing reasons, but legal, too. It allows them to cut it off at some quantity. If they didn't, they'd have to honor anyone who signed up before the deadline, no matter how many did it.

Fun fact: Has anybody noticed all the geese are gone? They have been moved to Lake Norman. This is due to their aggressive nature as they were multiplying rather quickly. The ducks still remain tho. Also apparently Carowinds has squirrel hunters which is why you do see them either. Now all they need is a snake hunter. Or douse the park in sulfur or snake repellent. That’s the only issue they are having right now.

I was wondering why I didn't see any when I was there last weekend. The nest area was gone too (beside the covered bridge near Kiddy Hawk) That's too bad. I loved the geese. I will miss them.

Then again... another fun fact about geese is that they FLY (hmmm) So... we'll see if the park has REALLY rid themselves of the geese. Next migration, they may just return to the same place they always have... Carowinds.

Is there a real snake problem in the park other than the Copperhead Strike-related ones? I've never seen one in the park. I suppose a snake sighting is bad for businessssssss.

Sad, but happy, to hear about the geese. We loved watching them grow over the spring. When we were there last, the babies were almost fully-grown.

As for snakes, I've never seen one myself, though I don't particularly keep an eye out.

Not a really bad one, however they are around. There were two I seen in the Yo-yo operation booth one just chilling inside and the other at the back of the ride crawling across the pad towards Afterburn. The ride op was not going anywhere near that booth. This was a few weeks ago. Last week one was near the old chapel now gift shop by Windseeker that was safely removed by maintenance.
