I would agree that a
themed log ride would be fantastic. HOWEVER, I would add a few thoughts.
The old powder keg flume was a log ride that provided "sprays" of water and the "chance" you'd get wet. That was great-- even if you were the "one," you still weren't completed soaked from head to toe. You didn't have to endure wet underwear for the rest of the day.
A wide range of people "like" to get some sprinkles and a little bit of splash. But a much smaller number really want to get soaked.
My theory:
Kids like to get drenched. Teens there all day, still find it fun, but unlike just a few years ago, they now they have to worry about their cell phones and other electronics. Adults really don't want to walk around with soaked underwear and shoes, a dripping wallet or damaged electronics.
If the goal is to create a nice ride to appeal to all demographics, then I would suggest a "little" bit of water. Maybe during hot summer days, turn on a few geysers or sprays... and during cooler times, turn off some features so riders don't get "wet."
I recently rode Dudley at Universal and thankfully, someone exiting gave me a plastic rain poncho to wear. Glad I had it. My teenager was not amused at his wetness and was miserable for a couple of hours.
