why would jets and boats be under fury? unless i'm missing something. However more and more parts have been showing up under fury so there is something going on down there. gonna have to go on the skytower to get a better view of all of this.

It sounds like the parts of the rides removed from Planet Snoopy.

I do remember in the livestream from the news channel, Steve Jackson did say that the parts from snoopy's yacht club are still in storage

How confident are we that it’s even going to be a wooden coaster? I mean I know we as enthusiasts see a new woodie as the next logical step for the park, but as far as we know, the park might consider Hurler as the ride that fills the big wooden coaster niche. Carowinds does have two wooden coasters already which is about par for course for a regional park of its size. It’s just as likely that we could end up with a launched coaster, some sort of RMC, or a Dive Coaster.

With that being said, a GCI would be my first pick for several reasons. The last two major coaster additions have been aimed at thrill seekers rather than families, and I personally think the park still lacks a quality coaster that is truly fun for the entire family (something we lost in Thunder Road). Carowinds also lacks a decently themed coaster, and while I’d say Flying Cobras is the best in the park, it’s still kind of subpar for a regional amusement park. Mystic Timbers and Wicker Man seem very well done, and I’d like to see some sort of combination of the two not only in the layout but in the theming as well. I personally think decent theming is a good trade off for new records.

Anyways, whatever we end up getting, I hope it has a nautical theme. Something to do with pirates or sea monsters would be nice, especially considering the proximity this coaster will have to the water park.

Kings Island already had a great wooden coaster and an okay wooden coaster before Mystic Timbers. For me, I’m convinced this is a GCI. If it ends up being something else, cool! But given Cedar Fair’s history with GCI, it makes a lot of sense. Also, it helps mentioning that the Ouimet-era Cedar Fair and now Zimmerman-led Cedar Fair is focused on giving parks what they need the most.

So if it’s not a wooden coaster, it’ll probably be a launch, if I had to guess.

It seems GCI is capable of making a launched coaster as an LSM was in the original blueprints for Wicker Man, but the fact that it was left out of the finished product leads me to believe that they were not be able to do it or the project was over budget.

A launched GCI would be perfect for the park though. It’d be killing three birds with one stone really: A quality wooden coaster, a launched coaster, and a thrilling family coaster.

You're just trying to make it easy for RMC huh lol.

Are you sure? Don't get caught up in these internet myths . . . like smiler was to have a washing machine element which would control the amount of inversions to keep the record lol.

Ah, I was under the impression that the launch had been explicitly included on the blueprints, but I guess I was wrong. I still hope we get some sort of Mystic Timbers/Wicker Man hybrid though, with a twisty layout, several tunnels, some airtime hills, and actual theming.

I think that a launched GCI is very possible, but Carowinds isn't really that park to test out these new types of rides. RMC Hurler is NOT happening because project alpha was filed for the south carolina side of the park so that is WWF and the waterpark pool they took out.

It still can happen and probally will just not this year. To me it isn’t that bad of a ride it can be rough in some spots but overall it’s not one bit as bad as KD’s old Hurler
