I've been going to Carowinds since the year it opened and while the Plantation house was impressive as a kid the whole entrance area to the park was very underwhelming. I like this new layout and will not miss the Plantation house as it was always very restrictive feeling. But I was also hoping they would really widen the existing bridge, add more shops, restaurants, etc to give the park a more International Street feel like KD and CW.

First the boat now this :( I was honestly heartbroken when i noticed the Plantation house was gone :( I kinda understand tho. It's progress and progress is what we need!!

I must say that the new entry plaza is just plain sexy :)

I'm excited. Right after the announcement I got online and bought my 2015 pass!!

Has anyone bought the dining plan because I'm trying to get my family to buy a Carowinds Season Pass this year instead of one from Dollywood and they are tough to please.

I'm holding off on the renewal of my current platinum pass until one of the other parks is talked to about things. If you get platinum and dining, why isn't the dining plan available at every park that offers the season pass dining plan? This year i hit Carowinds, Kings dominion, and Cedar point, and would be kinda mad if dining pass was only at the one that issued the pass. If they can pull up my picture at the registers at harmony hall when i got my pass at kings dominion, they can certainly pull up a dining plan. Will there be a platinum dining plan to go along with the platinum pass?

For what it's worth, there will be a Q&A with Mike at SCarolina Coaster Classic in September.

For those of you who were at the presentation, could you please tell me a little about the new food offerings that they had to sample. I'm really considering purchasing the Season Pass with dining, and I'm curious about these "authentic Carolina tastes" that will be debuting next year.

I'll probably end up purchasing the dining anyway, because it really is a steal! We live locally and usually go back to the house for lunch, but I'd love to not have to deal with the hassle of leaving the park. We go to the park at least once a week, so I know I'd definitely get my money's worth, even if it was just in chicken strips, but I'm really hoping for something a little better, food quality wise. We have eaten at and enjoyed Chickie and Petes, but from what I can tell it is not on the dining plan, so I'm hoping that the newly revamped eateries will not be excluded as well!

BBQ, burgers, cornbread muffins, ice cream, shrimp, sweet tea, salad, etc. Overall, I liked it. :)

I bought my 2015 pass a few minutes ago with the dining plan. I haven't been to the park this year but am looking forward to trying the new food options. Also I plan to hit Cedar Point again to see if MF will retain my favorite coaster designation or F325 overtakes it. A trip to KI might be in there as well.

Hmmm..... I wonder if we will see a SlingShot added as a quiet surprise or more of a "off" year addition. Would kinda make up for losing the go-carts as far as up-charge attractions go. Not to mention a small footprint and they did say "rides" in the release but of course I would only assume they meant long term.

I also ate something wrapped in what I guess was a grape leaf - it had beef and rice filling, as well as a freshly made bacon cheddar potato skin - both of which were excellent and would be happy to pay money for.

I had a little chili dog with cole slaw on top. One of those Carolina things I don't understand, but it was pretty good.
The potato skin was awesome!
But the Fury ice cream (with pop rocks on top) was the best! Super fun idea!!!

My home park is Cedar Point and I did buy the dining plan for 2014. It's a great plan even though there are the food options aren't huge, it's a good investement.
