General Carowinds discussion

They said at the ACE event that they are working on getting one. It could be that they are setting up a new one or those hornets up there have finally chewed through the wires, lol.

Just got back from Cedar Point, and when I got there I imagined that I was going through the Carowinds gate. Got me that much more excited for next year. Its insanely efficient compared to what we had. No gates, no metal detectors, no stopping for bag checks, no wand guys, and no humongous buildups outside waiting to get in. Just scan your card and you're in. Even with the nostalgia, its just so much better than what we had.

Edit: This was my 100th post on the forum :D

You know I like you Chris, but I am really growing tired of your negative attitude recently.

The building was damaged due to PARAMOUNT not keeping up the maintenance on it. It was a very old building, with very old construction methods. There was flooding in parts of the building, and mold on the inside of the walls. When we got our tour during C3, the upstairs was easily 10-20 degrees warmer than it was outside due to the A/C units no longer working properly. The building was simply broken, old, and outdated.

Cedar Fair chose to put the building out of it's misery than to spend their entire budget revamping it. You can not like it, that's okay. But don't blame the park for choosing to make a wise financial decision.

Negative? Ok, here is positive.....
I still want to see what the new plaza ends up looking like so I have to go once next year.

Dont...please dont. If a building that wouldn't give two shi...craps if you were in it or not when it decided to collapse means that much to you then stay at home and wallow in your sorrows...

OK, after going to Carowinds for these past 40 years and going through the front entrance I never realized how Open that area could be. WOW, what a difference. That photo says a lot and just adds to the excitement of attending next year.
I have always thought that Carowinds needed to add something to get it on the radar and, I believe that with everything that is going on, the blip has finally shown up.
It will be odd not entering through the old entrance but then again it was odd not having a land-line with an answering machine.
