[offtopic]For many people Windseeker is the scariest attraction at the park.[/offtopic]

Yeah, a big THIS to what this person said. I'll ride any coaster in the park, or any park for that matter. Know what scares the crap out of me? Windseeker...and that needle thing, what is it, Skytower? I hate those things. Any type of "swings" ride get a big Nope from me too. I'm not sure why rides like this bother me because I don't have a fear of heights or enclosed spaces, or even spinny rides, these types of rides just do.

Back on topic, I like anything that gives a lot of "fresh air" time on a hot day. I like rides like Troika that CP had. Anything that would give a lot of cool air while you sit for 90 whole seconds.

I'm not surprised people are afraid of Windseeker, it has a really bad reputation. First and far most, there is the height. Then it gets stuck on the regular. Even before the first one opened, engineers had to figure how how to keep the wind from causing the swings to crash into one another. The first time I rode it, there was a wind delay, but once I got on it, the wind was still blowing really hard. It scared the crap out of me. I just wanted the thing to come back down so I could get off. But it is pretty to look at at night.

Riding wise: I'd take Windseeker over SkyScreamer any day.

To me, getting stuck 300' in the air on Windseeker isn't as bad as an actual 90 second ride on SkyScreamer. I rode the SFOG one and swore if I made it back alive I'd never ride one again. Windseeker is like an open air Sky Tower and the height doesn't bother me - probably because of those rigid, steel arms. SkyScreamer's chains just freak me out. The time I rode there was a gust or two at the top that tried rotating my seat around and that was a big "OH HELL NO!" moment for me.

Your post gave me anxiety. That sounds terrifying.

This is exactly why I said I preferred the Windseeker...I haven't actually ridden a SkyScreamer but I don't plan to either, because of the chains.

Windseeker is one of the few rides I haven't been on. I'm not afraid of the ride, I just don't want to be stuck up there for 2 hours. I've seen the yellow rescue baskets in operation and that looks like a terrible way to get down from 300 feet.

I think chill rides are important to any park. Yesterday I did something i had not done in a long time and that was to ride the carousel. I had eaten lunch recently and wasn't feeling like riding another coaster (and the lines were long). That is when I wish we had a train or something that i could just hop on and people watch. The carousel was fun, but it just didn't fit what i was wanting to do. I ended up standing on the covered bridge and watching a goose play in the water. That area really is one of my favorites. It is less traveled than other paths and the water and trees are nice and cool.

I may be in the minority about this, but I think Dinosaurs Alive is a GREAT chill spot! I did last Wednesday and I thought it was a great way to cool off from the crowds. However, the lack of people walking through it probably means it won't be around for long, so enjoy it while you can!

I don't think you're a minority but Dinos Alive to me didn't live up to what I thought it was going to be. On top of that, there were those stupid inch worms EVERYWHERE and they kept getting in my hair and on my clothes.. Needless to say, I am not doing it again anytime soon.

I would like to see the mini golf course cleaned up. We played last night and it was pretty gross. There was standing water on some holes, a bunch of frogs blocking the course, and the only light was from two spotlights at White Water Falls. If I didn't have a flashlight we wouldn't have been able to play half the holes.

It was a nice place to chill though. There were no crowds and no lines.

I mean, what about the misty spot under the vine covered walkway when (now) walking towards Fury? I remember that has always been one of the cooler parts of the park, especially in the summertime with the shade and the mist. I think it has been there since the park has opened? Maybe we could have more areas to just sit and cool off. (The old Coke marketplace? was sort of similar)
