"Carolina Cyclone will be repainted to a green color. (supports are still unknown) (source:http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/park-ride-construction-155/49435-carowinds-2010-coaster-intimidator-49.html). Rumors are said that there will be a new attraction comming soon."

Oh and in case anybody was wondering it is official: Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion here at Carowinds is now "Boo Blasters" on Haunted Boo Hill (or something to that effect involving the name Boo Blasters). Dani kinda let it slip out on a podcast. Didn't know if anybody knew for sure so I decided to put it up on here.

I think that "Flight of Fear" is so ingenious. If more rides like that can be developed they would add a whole new twist to the theme park experience. From 0 - 60 mph, to start off the adventure, in only a few seconds flat. Incredible!

When Paramount owned the parks, I had the opportunity to work on "Flight of Fear" and I had a blast. It was the same year "Volcano" opened. In those days... Kings Dominion stayed open two more full weeks longer than sister (brother) parks - Carowinds and Kings Island - and KD was losing workers because they were going back to school and so forth. So, workers from the sister/brother parks were asked if we'd like to work there on weekdays for two weeks, and a whole luxury busload of us from Carowinds said "yes" to the all-expenses-paid trips. We watched movies on the way up and back, and were even fed two meals a day at the park, and all employees in the park were invited to ride "Volcano" after the park closed on the first Monday night we worked. The checks were nice because we worked from opening to close. We stayed at King's Quarters, or whatever that big motel's name is within walking distance to the park.

We now need a rich sugar park mama or daddy to organize an all expense paid trip to a park like that for all who have joined Carowinds Connection. But, instead of working, we'll be playing! Would anyone go? Count me in!!!

I've gotta give it to Dani, she seems to be a real people person.
While operating Phantom Flyers at Coaster Stock last year, on the last ride she whispered to me to announce a special "Thanks for supporting CS 2009," something I didn't even think about saying. It was in the way she suggested it, she didn't try to embarrass me or cut me down. She was understanding and gentle, and it was only our second meeting face to face. Hats off to you Dani. You are as polite as you are beautiful.

She really is such a sweet heart. Sometimes I wonder if she ever really gets to enjoy herself in the park, then I just remember her being her. There is no way she could never enjoy herself in the park, even while being on the job. You're right she is extremely polite and I have never seen her have a bad day. I know her job must be somewhat stressful but I don't think she would have it any other way.

Dani, from all of us here at Carowinds Connection, thank you for becoming one of the best additions to the Carowinds family. Thank you for what you do for all of us here at Carowinds Connection.

Out of curiosity, anyone know what to expect from the new ownership? Wonder if season pass holders get to see free movies at AMC or a free cruise. Anyways just curious as to what all this company owns that carowinds could grab themes from

Good chance right now that the sale won't even happen. Shareholders could vote it down next month.

Free movie passes and cruises for employees would be nice. I'm ready for my first cruise.

Looking at the webcam, anyone else notice that they have used quite a bit of that same blue paint throughout planet snoopy? I get the carolina blue connection, but it might be overkill.

What's the deal with Thunder Road? On the Carowinds Facebook fan page, there have been quite a few people claiming that they have seen Thunder Road being taken apart.

I understand it was under some crazy renovation, but this sounds a bit more extreme than renovation.

This has probably already been discussed on the forum (judging the fact that nobody is posting about it), so forgive me if it has. :D

every year a section is taken apart and rebuilt. I was there last weekend, they were already rebuilding the middle into the turn around.

If only The Hurler can get some of that treatment. At least rebuild all (3) of the high speed bank turns. In my opinion, it's still a great ride. It just need's some TLC like it's big brother across the park.

Once the smooth metal coasters hit the scene, I've preferred them every since. Some wooden coasters can shack you up so much you feel like a milkshake by the time the ride ends.
I prefer blonds, I mean metal.

I say it every time, Hurler's problem isn't it's lack of maintence...It got more than TR did in 2006, and the ride wasn't improved. Hurler's problem is it's design, the flat straighaway before the first turn allows Hurler to maintain it's speed. Turn 3 was retracked before the 2005 season, then before the 2006 season, and midseason 2006. If you notice turn 5 causes a loss in speed that the others don't and is the smoothest turn. I am going to steal something from Jay: "Hurler is not rough." If you can't stand the bumps, stay off the Hurler!
