^That is result of endless "Carowinds stole our Flyers" for ten years. They got new flyers now, so the whining has toned down a lot. Last I heard a group of them come visit their flyers.
Almost feels like we're getting trolled by Carowinds by handing out these pins. Hopefully they make up for the dissapointment of losing Thunder Road with whatever is replacing it.
The way that people are reacting to this is just childish. I can't wait until all of this just rolls on over into next season. If they don't want to come back, then it's shorter lines for us!
^Shorter lines for ya'll and less profit for them. I am keeping my $1,000 per year I spend at Carowinds and going on a weekend trip for a couple seasons.

To be honest though, I think that once everyone realizes that this is for the better of the park, there won't be that much of a backlash. Even after all of the comments and the hate happening at the moment. I don't know what they have planned. My only goal was to find out if it was just a marketing scheme or not. I want to be surprised just like everyone else.. or is that just me?
5 stages of grief: 1. Denial - "Maybe it's a publicity stunt.. They said 'last race' so it's not being torn down" 2. Anger - "How could they do this?! Thunder Road is HISTORIC!!" 3. Bargaining - "If you remove Thunder Road, I won't renew my season pass!!!" 4. Depression - "I remember my first time on Thunder Road... " 5. Acceptance - "Something exciting will come next year. I'm sure they had no choice."
^Guys this is us.

Coaster enthusiasts think too highly of themselves. People aren't going to stop going, because they're fickle and whatever the park builds next year and after will likely draw more people in. One coaster enthusiast not going and not spending a grand stretched out over an entire season will not a situation make.
