General Carowinds discussion

My wife and I was just saying the same thing this morning. I'm sure they took this into consideration. I personally would like to see a wall with trees planted in front of it for safety and just to block some of the noise from the road. Plus I figure it will be a distraction to the drivers.

As you can see from the pic a few posts earlier, there is no wall. There is, however, a rise but not a hill. You can tell that from the pictures from ground level on Google maps. We can all hope they build some kind of buffer between the park and the road.

Then again, they may not want TOO much of a buffer because the fact that people can see in from their cars is quite simply, more advertisement.

To me seems like they would want to build a wall because if you are at the wave pool, you don't really want to see and hear cars and trucks going up and down the road. Kinda ruins the atmosphere they are trying to create.

Here are a few updated pictures of Carolina Harbor construction.

Concrete is getting ready to be poured

First shot of the new entrance planter

The new gate is coming along well

What is a harbor without a lighthouse?

The big lighthouse is being built

New 'elements' continue to be added

It should be ready for the grand opening in less than two months!

Is there more to the new gate that we can't see? It looks awful tiny for the amount of folks that I figure will be using it.

Giles, the Lighthouse is part of the new Bar (from what I remember).
Josh, that is the main structure for the new entrance. Looks like the entire entrance path is 40 feet from left to right, with the main structure occupying about 25 feet of that in the center. The entrance as an area is plenty large enough for the expected crowds. But the structure, I am not too sure of. They know what they are doing though.

The light house is part of the new cabana rental facility.
