Went again yesterday and got 7 rides on Fury 325. The lines were the best that I have ever seen so far this season. I'm guessing the heat was too much for everyone. It was a hot one yesterday for sure. Saw another puke incident. That is becoming the norm now on Fury 325 I think. Guess a lot of people can't handle a ride like that when they think that they can.

There was a puke experience on Intimidator on opening day.
Fortunately though, it was on the final brake run.

I was at the park yesterday evening and the lines were short all over the park. I got in 18 rides (on 10 different coasters/rides) in 3 hours and 20 minutes. I have previously tried to tie the puking to the dining plan (more food, intense rides, etc.) but now I'm going to tie it to the short waits. Some people need time between intense rides to keep from getting nauseous. I'm a lightweight myself, but I know it so I space out the more intense rides and don't just keep riding Fury over and over all day. Some people don't know their limits. At some other parks and on some other days the lines are so long that almost everyone is "over it" by the time they get on their next ride.

I saw another puker yesterday (not me). Also some kid in the station really seemed to be having difficulties, probably with dehydration or heat exhaustion.

Yeah, the heat must be keeping people away. I went yesterday around lunch time. I rode Fury 10 times (2 from the front row), and the last 3 rides were without getting out of my seat (row 7). They were cool with it, as long as nobody was waiting for your row. I asked before I did it and the one op said it was fine as long I didn't do it too many times in a row. I think he didn't want to clean up more puke. I can't say I blame him.

There is probably something to the theory that short lines might cause more pukers. And the heat must make it worse. But, there were plenty of other pukings on days with much longer lines, and cooler temps, so who knows. I personally think that the marketing of the "biggest, fastest, newest" just really did the trick. And so lots of 'first-time-folks' are going to Carowinds that otherwise would not have. And some of the coaster-noobs are finding out that they are susceptible to motion sickness.

After Fury, I had lunch (best lunch at Carowinds yet ). Then I rode Intimidator 3 times (all from the back seat). And I headed back home to the Air Conditioning.

That was an awesome 2 hours at the park.

My best guess the heat and dehydration has a lot to do with the sickness too, not just the shorter lines and more rides. I'd imagine that if somebody had motion sickness they would be able to feel themselves starting to feel sick and not get back in line to ride again in 5 minutes. (Although I'm sure on occasion it does come without any warning) However, that being said I did feel really sick at the park one day when I was next in line for Afterburn. I had ridden it a few times right before as it was like a 1-2 train wait at the time, so it's possible that it was due to the ride, but I've never felt motion sickness or anything from riding rides, so I think it was at least 75% due to the heat and not drinking enough water.

Rode Fury for the first time Wednesday. Let me just say it was everything y'all said it would be. It was awesome!!!! My very first ride was in the front row Every ride in the park was a walk on all day. It was the best time I ever had at any park. Also got my 12 year old daughter to ride it she was so scared at first but then she rode it 5 times in a row!! Fury is most definitely my new #1

I just looked at the temp at CLT..97 degrees! Dear God!

I once went to Kings Island with 3 friends and the day was in the upper 90s and terribly humid. We were exhausted and it was miserable. My friend had on a black t shirt and when it dried from sweat it was covered in salt! If the heat is like this, I won't go to a park. No wonder it's slow. I don't blame anyone for not going. But I'll bet Fury is hauling A$$ in temps like these.

I am going tomorrow. I bought one of those enduracool towels, which is supposed to stay cool when they are wet. Guess I will be testing it out in the perfect temps tomorrow. I know it is going to be hot. My Fury 325 count is currently at 36, so hoping to get into the 40s tomorrow. I do love the fact that in the real hot days they advertise they give the free cups of water away. A lot of people aren't aware that they do that, so glad they think safety first on these real hot days and make announcements.

we went today. The park was semi-dead, semi-busy. I don't know how else to explain it. fury was a walk-on most of the day (well, I consider under 10 minutes a walk-on). Rode Thunder Road only once today, but I'll get my fix on it on July 26th. Other than it being really hot today, we had a very good time. I'll have the videos of out trip today on my channel within the next few days.

A walk-on is a ride where you can walk through the queue line without stopping until you get to the gate. In the case of Fury, I would say that would mean without stopping until your party gets to the row assignment person.

Just call it what it is. Having been to Carowinds on these "dead" days, there's a difference between "walk-on" and "under 10 minutes". This just reminded me how spoiled I am to be able to get in so many rides in such short periods of time here.
