General Carowinds discussion

Mine was a genuinely curious question. When they say "2:24 ride time", is that the time it takes the train to complete the course, or does it include estimated load/unload time too? I'm sure there's a general industry standard to what exactly it's referring to.

And surely you arent implying that you expect the popularity of Copperhead to equal that of Richochet? I think there would be massive disappointment all around if that proves to be the case. Richochet and Flying Cobras dont have astronomical wait times because for most people they arent destination rides; if the line is long, you keep walking and come back later, if you chose to ride it at all. There is no magical process that pushes riders through faster than the bigger coasters, the lines are shorter because they have fewer riders.

It was a fun tour, good to me a couple of y’all. Not gonna lie I was taking pics more than listening but the coaster looks great. Think I heard the first train should arrive toward the end of this month.

As usual, great pictures. Thanks! :D

I think the comparison point that he was trying to make what not so much on popularity, but the ride's capacity. Copperhead Strike has a much higher capacity than that of Nighthawk, Cobra, and Ricochet all which max out at no more than 700 people per hour just due to the ride's design. If those rides can handle their lines with a much lower capacity, then Copperhead will be fine. They'll have some of their strongest ops coming from all the other rides so I am sure they will be very efficient.

That's a questions you ask at enthusiasts events or when the train is present, in my opinion. Chances are Steve wouldn't have that answer at the ready anyway lol.

Carowinds Sully wrote:So they mentioned a theming company on the video that Carowinds posted the other day. Does anyone happen to know what company is doing the theming for Copperhead Strike?

The Weber Group is doing the theming. Some of their previous work includes InvadR and Time Traveler. They've also done theming for Nickelodeon, LEGO, Warner Brothers, Angry Bird, and Great Wolf Lodge.

Guess 6 pics is the max per post so here’s a double post:

Yes, there will be lockers. last I heard they will be near the bumper cars, but they could have changed it. There will likely be assigned seats as well...

Looks like the trains have been discharged from Charleston, or the first train....
