I agree. If I am looking at that correctly, it looks like the tunnel will be where or near the current pedestrian bridge. So maybe after all these years, we are finally getting our coaster under the bridge? Speaking of that area, I wonder will they extend the entrance plaza outward to the coaster?

I would think so. I was just saying that the drawings that are posted there are strictly for the parking booths and the entrance road. The coaster related stuff could've been added at the very beginning just for reference and changed later on and these drawings not been revised since they don't specifically deal with the coaster stuff.

The same could be said for the entrance plaza as well. Perhaps they are moving it to where the tunnel is, and pedestrians will walk over the coaster to get into the park. This will allow for a Cedar Point-ish entrance. Somehow I can't see them putting a Leviathan 'metal above ground tunnel' in the front of the park.

As predicted, sounds like the coaster will dominate the front entrance area and extend out into the parking lot. Causing the Toll Plaza to be relocated. And perhaps the tunnel just may take the coaster under the bridge. But good that the Plantation House may be saved. Definitely a front gate statement like Gatekeeper at Cedar Point.

If they expect this new coaster to draw in so many more visitors (400,000 for 2015, right?!) Then they'll definitely have to do something with the enterance.

I'm not saying destroy the Plantation House, but maybe move it? (Museum?) Or extend the enterance plaza outward and have a new "Cedar Point Style" enterance. That doesn't mean a coaster plowing through it, but the same style of enterance. New, updated, maybe add a fountain. New sign. Plant some trees. Etc.

It's sometimes a pain to get through on a crowded day, and with more people coming next season, there has to be something done to improve the flow.

Nostalgia wants me to be like "save the plantation house", but I really want Carowinds to benefit from Cedar Fair's attention, if that makes any sense.

The best solution, imo, would be to just push the enterance out, and add a new plaza in front of the Plantation house. Assuming that's feasible for their budget, means, etc.

Moving the plantation is like moving the railroad ststio at all magic kingdoms...to me. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the only time the gate is backed up is in the morning at opening and that doednt last long right?

Not always. Regardless, it could be more efficient.

Especially when you consider Scarowinds time, this past season there were lines almost the entire night, getting in and out. I was actually shocked.

On the topic of Scarowinds, I was thinking about the "Amusement Dark" thing. Rather than a Dark Ride, could it be a renaming of the Cedar Fair Halloween Haunt attractions for 2016 or later? Like turing Scarowinds: Halloween Haunt into Scarowinds: Amusement Dark, and the same with the other parks? Its just a thought, because you know, Amusement Park, Amusement Dark.

SCarowinds, Opening and closing primary. Maybe during large events too.

If you look at the scope of the prints, it appears as if there will be a shuffle of the parking lot, planting of trees, and "proposed pond basins".

The tunnel is weird to me. It looks like its in an odd place. Right where people would walk to get to the park enterance. It would make a statement, but I think there's more coming that these papers don't tell us. I think, particularly the enterance, will be changed and they'll incorporate the tunnel differently than the prints suggest.

I think you will walk over the tunnel on your way in to the entrance. Much like the south gate with After Burn.
