17. Morey's Piers, N.J., 3.1 million, +1 percent
18. Cedar Point, 3.1 million, -2 percent
19. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, 3 million, no change
20. Six Flags Great Adventure, 2.9 million, +6 percent
21. Six Flags Great America, 2.8 million, +24 percent
22. Six Flags Magic Mountain, 2.8 million, +5 percent
23. Hersheypark, 2.7 million, no change
24. Busch Gardens Williamsburg, 2.6 million, +8.3 percent
25. Dollywood, 2.3 million, +7.3 percent
29. Carowinds (I can safely say that much)

PCW was up 7 percent. PKI was down 5.1 percent. Dollywood was up 7.3 percent! Be interesting to see how Carowinds did.

SFGAm put in the new waterpark and had a 24 percent increase. Wonder how Carowinds' BB makeover will help them this year?

PKI's decrease is further proof that adding a new coaster won't automatically increase your attendance. People like waterparks. I expect Carowinds BB expansion will have positive effects on attendance for 2006.

I figured PC would not be in the top 25 but where did they place?

PKI's decrease only proves that adding a crappy coaster won't automatically increase your attendance. ;)

^ Amen ^

Look at Carowinds. Attendance hit over 2 million for the first time in history after Borg.

Carowinds couldn't have been much farther down the list, maybe 27th or 28th.

I think the main reason why attendance was down at PKI is not really due to the fact that Cepas said they put in a crappy coaster, but the operation of the park is just awful. I know that the only time this year I was at PKI was a day inwhich alot of things open late in the afternoon. Nothing like seeing the early morning coaster inspection on the parks new coaster at noon.

The waterpark is getting a make over!?!? What cool new slides are they getting! Hope they follow the same trend of the other 2 parks that just recieved one and add some of those cool looking slides...

well, so far they only announced 1)a bar type thing, 2)a shallow lagoon (yes, yet another kiddie pool), 3)a very short slide (kiddie slide)...otherwise just re-theming. Unless i missed another announcement, that's it

Got the rank for the park and added it. From what I understand, the park had a really good year attendance wise.

I guess family rides really do bring in the people. lol (Dollywood)

Probably had to do more with the 20th anniversary I guess.

Wow! Is carowinds 3rd in the paramount chain in attendance? I wonder if the inflow of used rides will soon stop...

It will stop about the time some people stop crying and complaining about it.

^^
You've also got to remember that Carowinds is not located in a city like the other two.

They have a lot more population to draw off of.

^Carowinds is actually closer to Charlotte than Kings Island is to Cincinnati and PKD is a good 25 miles north of Richmond.

Yeah but I was talking about the entire region they are in.

Like PKD is near Richomnd and only 1 hour from DC. That's a ton of people to draw off of.
