Just heard this on the way home from work.

Carowinds will put you thru lifeguard training and give you $150.00 if you pass.
The pay is $7.50 - $8.00 per hour.

I guess the pay is ok as I imagine alot of overtime. I was expecting the pay to be a little closer to $10.00 seeing how you might have to save a life or two.

It is more than Wet N Wild pays theirs. Also, WnW does NOT pay for lifegaurd classes. The trainee has to pay for that. I believe it is 200 to 300 dollars.

The pay that you get for going through the class is equivalent to the pay you would receive if they were paying you by the hour. And--You only get the $150 if you pass the class. (Apparently, if you fail, you just wasted your time and you don't get paid.) It sounds good, but it's really just what they owe you for the hours you spend training.
