I never noticed these old footers in the Vortex "grounds" and was wondering if anyone (Ken) knew what they were for? Monorail? Jalopies?

You can see in this drawing the monorail went through the Vortex structure twice. That could possibly be a monorail footer but without knowing what part of Vortex that is I couldn't say for sure.

That's one of the bases the Skytower Christmas Tree cables are rigged to.

Exactly. Its nothing but a giant concrete paperweight for the Xmas decorations. It is literally a cylindrical block with a u shaped hook on the top.

Ken that pic helps a lot, it looks like the footer is in exactly the spot where the return trip of the monorail was.

The things look too old to be for the skytower tree, but who knows. Maybe that's what they are. And there are more than one out there. I just snapped that one.

Now that I think about it, that little green footer is sitting on TOP of the Vortex footer pad, so that would mean (I'm assuming) it was put in after Vortex.

LOL Where did our oblique loop go on Vortex?  Must be like that 3rd loop on Mind Bender.

It is the footer for the turnaround after Vortex's corkscrew, and no it is not a Monorail footer.

It is one of the footings for the Skytower christmas tree. Notice that it is not present in this 1995 photo. I am guessing that it was left out after Winterfest 2005 or whenever the last time they done the tree was.

no...they meant oblique loop...which is followed by the helix

They said "then a flat spin" which is "B&M" for corkscrew... this would be saying are 3 inversions on Vortex. Unless, an oblique loop is not an inversion.

And oblique loop is an inversion.

Although imdb lists it as a inclined loop.
