Hey all you coaster fans,

It's that time of year again-time for Coaster Stock 2011!

It's still a few months away (keep an eye on carowinds.com and on your inbox for more information), but I'm already plotting and scheming for this year's event!

I'm looking to try to get another speaker to come to Coaster Stock 2011, and needed some help from you!

Who would you like to see speak at this year's event? I'm looking for positive suggestions here!
Also, what other activities would you like to see at this year's event? Personally, I'm pumped for the video contest! I'm working on a script now! :)

I hope to see you very soon,
Bryn

Hmm, well, I saw that you had a scavenger hunt for C3 last year, that would be fun, as I wasn't there for that. Also, how about a free ride on the X-treme Skyflyer. (yes, a stretch, but I think that would be cool!) Maybe a lock-out tour of something? (Yup, I'm really just wishing here.) As for a speaker, I don't really have an idea...

I'm really excited about Jeopardy! That was really fun last year. Oh, and also, Intimidator ERT, but I'm sure you already knew we wanted that. :D

*Edit*
Could we do it like in May or early June or September so it's not as hot?!?!?!

This is going to be my 1st coasterstock so I have no idea what to expect. Sounds like fun though!! I think the intimidator and nighthawk nighttime ERT was a great idea last time.

See you guys there

Same here. This is also going to be my first Coaster Stock and I'm looking forward to it! The sooner the date is published the better so I can make sure I arrange the time off.

I'm sure you have it lined up already, but I'd like to hear from the GM of Carowinds (Bart Kinzel). It would also be interesting to hear from Jerry Helms (if he's still VP Operations). Regardless of who speaks, I'd like to hear more about future plans for Carowinds that are allowed to be public. Even slight hints to start rumors would be great!

I'd personally like to hear from your IS Operations Manager because that's pretty much what I do for a living, but that would bore a majority of the attendees. :)

Thanks for putting this together. I'll see you there.

I agree with the idea of a free skyflyer ride, that would be awesome! hahahah! (or at least 1/2 price). How about some early/exclusive waterpark time? I dont know if thats possible, since the waterpark would open at 11am, but at least like a section for just the coasterstock attendees maybe just because tis so hot in july anyway and I actually spent a lot of the day in the waterpark last year. The only other thing that I would like to see is more backstage tours of some kind, maybe a lock out tour like mentioned above? The tour of intimidator last year was awesome! Oh and one more thing, how about some FREE BEER!?

As far as a speaker, not really sure? Maybe someone from a wooden coaster manuf. or maybe someone from cedar fair?

Other than that, I think the scavenger hunt was fun and I know the video contest will be good as well. Cant wait to see what is in store this year! I am already excited...

for speaker I would suggest the person behind the snoopy light fest. I mean all jokes aside it takes some serious planning to not blow a grid and to make it all come to life. If they're not avaliable uncle jerry is always a plus!

How about turn the "single riders line" on Intimidator and Night Hawk into a Coasterstock Only line for both coasters, with staff allowing those Coasterstock participants to "ride-at-will" throughout the day OR at designated intervals. Not all of us may have the ability to come early and stay late, when the general public is not in the park.

Also, using a day outside of a July Saturday would be nice. We always stay away from the park on summer Saturdays, but why not a Friday, as was the case the first year?

nice suggestion coaster dad but I think those single riders would be upset. I think instead of the single riders line it would be better for the park to use the exit line and specific seats. therefore the park guest wont be pissed off too much since a row or 2 would be roped off in the first place.

Agreed, Coasterbruh, this would keep everyone happy. But anyone getting upset could always pay the little extra and participate in all the fun activities. I've never been able to attend Coasterstock, due to work obligations, but should be able to this year!

Happy Friday everyone!

I wanted to drop by and let you all know I'll do what I can do to make all your Coaster Stock 2011 dreams come true!

Coasterbruh, thanks for the suggestion about getting the Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular folks to chat with you guys-I'm looking into it :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
