My family is planning to go to Carowinds in 2 1/2 weeks. Have they raised all the rode heights or something? My son is 47 & 3/4 inches with shoes will that count as 48? The gold rush height is 48. Space Mtn @ Disney is 42! Hope he will grow fast. Please advise.

It might. I can't guarantee anything so don't get your hopes up, but if someone does pass him as 48 make sure to ask for a bracelet so it won't be questioned anymore.

In my opinion, you MUST make sure your son is 48" WITH shoes! Find him some that get him to this height. As you enter the front gate, you will note customer service to your left where a height chart is posted and someone is checking and issuing wrist bands. You can bypass to the rides and get a wrist band when passed at a designated ride. Having been through this with four children, I only know too well the disappointment if not tall enough. Granted, the height requirement of 48" is ridiculous for Goldrusher. In the past, it was 40", but was changed when CF bought the former Paramount Parks to standardize with their existing "mine" coasters in their established parks. If he does get the wrist band, he will qualify for Cyclone, Cobra, ThunderRoad, and others - a wonderful "treat" for you and him on first time rides. My kids all exceed 54" now and "ride at will", but we had to do many things with shoes in the past to get by... Good luck!

Well that whole bracelet thing may or may not fly... I was there last week for the first time of the season and low and behold our youngest had made the 54" mark on the board at the "measuring station" at lost and found.. she got her green bracelet and off we went to Intimidator for her maiden voyage.

Now once we got there, she got measured again and was not tall enough by the board at Intimidator... So we got questioned and accused that we stole a green bracelet from somewhere and she was taken back to the front and re-measured... where she was legal by the stick. Back to Intimidator and measured again at another board where she wasnt tall enough.. The ride Op eventually let her go, but it was the difference in the 3 stations that caused a whole bunch of frustration and accusations by the staff... I know they were doing their job, Its just frustrating that she's at the point where she is exactly 54" by a tape measure, but not the "official" park measuring means...

Good Luck...
