I'm pretty sure everyone knows about the "special" cups Carowinds does every year. (If you buy it the year it was advertised you get free refills all year long for that certain year.) Anyway, this years cup has a pic of an animated windseeker on it. I don't have a picture of it but when I ate at carowinds this weekend I noticed something strange. If you look at the cup closely, in the right hand corner, there is a small pic of top thrill dragster in the distance. Talk about a fail! But hey, who knows, Carowinds may be hinting a new ride for 2013! The Dragster of the south! (Only if we get really, really, really lucky!)

This would not be the first time a Cedar Fair park has done something like this. I remember in Intimidator's gift shop, there was a key-chain that uses Intimidator 305's track. Also many advertisements show rides from other Cedar Fair parks. I remember an ad for Cedar Point that had Silver Bullet from Knott's Berry Farm in it.

No. There are no "hints."

Large chain parks like Cedar Fair and Six Flags mass produce their merchandise because it is cheaper for them to do so. Also with their website, they will use similar images over and over, because it is cheaper to throw a generic picture of Maverick than go and take new photos at every park. I don't suppose you checked every other Cedar Fair park website, because the exact same image is on EVERY one. Most people just see "ooh roller coaster" not "HEY THATS NOT AT THIS PARK WHATS THE DEAL!?" On the website there is a picture of Cedar Point's Starlight Experience.. why you don't take that as a hint?

Now to close this thread or let the lunacy continue..

J just beat me to it.

I really wouldn't read that much into it if I were you. Cedar Fair merchandise, and their TV spots, and their print media, AND their web graphics, are mostly generic chain-wide, with the local park's logo slapped on. Besides, past experience has shown that the park's teases and hints aren't usually that clever.

You can close now sir.

OH MY GOD, All the CF parks are getting a Maverick!

Come on, people. Its a bit crazy to take every little anomaly and try to blow it up into a new rumor. I have yet to see any park be terribly creative on giving hints as to what's coming next. It usually takes a lot of investigative work and digging to come up with the info first hand (like scouring permits at the building inspections office, etc.)
