I see there will be an event on the day of my planned visit 6/16. Anyone remember how the crowds and park ran in past years on the days of these Christian rock concerts?

Crowds are terrible., but RED is playing so that'll make up for it all!!!

No tips for a first time visitor? There must be some things that those that call Carowinds their home park know that could help a rookie.

Yea if you want to ride Nighthawk, I suggest you do it right when the park opens....

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips and help. June 16 was certainly a crazy day at the park. Without Fastlane we couldn't have done a fraction of what we did. We were there long before opening and got an early ride on Intimitator right at opening and then circled the park riding everything. Before noon the lines were massive and the t-shirts of large Christian groups were easy to notice, but Fastlane kept us moving. We managed three rides on Intimitator and at least one on every other coaster in the park. Mid afternoon, as we hit the road for our family reunion in Myrtle Beach, the line to buy a ticket was in the parking lot and the line to get into the parking lot started on the highway!! WOW!!! I don't know what is normal for Carowinds but compared to other parks we know well, it was a massive crowd.
